  Great hotel, great location

  Hotel was booked for us by our Travel Agency, Sphere. When we arrived the staff was courteous, and patient with our poor skills in Russian (no English or French available). Perfectly situated at the bus stop, close to downtown, shops, supermarket, museum, etc. Hotel is shaped like a pyramid, which is interesting, so our room has a wall at 45 degrees. Room was clean, bed comfortable, and equipped with fridge. All in all, very good value.

  Fab for F1 GP in Sochi

  Very good location if you are visiting F1 GP in Sochi. (The GP is actually held at the Olympic Park near Adler but hotels in Adler get booked up by the F1 circus. ) Hotel Valentin staff are very friendly and helpful but have little English so make sure you have a device with you that can utilise the free wifi available at the hotel and then all you need to do it dial up a translator and type in your questions/requirements and get an instant Russian version. Less stress for both you and the receptionist. The rooms are a generous size and come with a fridge and some crockery/cutlery and most important - a kettle!. A quick pop across the road and you can buy English breakfast tea bags and some blue top milk and make your own cuppa after a busy day at the track. We had a twin room and the beds were fine there was a separate bathroom with an over the bath shower. Not sure why the beds were not made up each day - might be we needed to hang a sign on the door but this would have been in Russian and we didn't hit on the translator idea until nearer the end of the trip. However hotel is well situated at the bus stop or about a 30 min walk to railway station & shops; across the road from good supermarket, and a short walk to the Arboretum. The two top restaurants in Sochi are approx 5 min walk and there are other good ones in the area - make sure you can access trip advisor when there for more suggestions. Short walk to the beach area. We didn't have time to use any of the hotel facilities as we spent most of our time at the circuit. On race days you can get a free FS3 Shuttle bus from the stop across the road directly to the circuit - takes about 30 mins. On the return journey it stops next to the supermarket - the area is known as 'Svetlana'. If you arrive on the Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs ahead of the race then you can either take a local bus 124C with numerous stops or wander into town and get the suburban electric train (cost c48 rubble's each way). Taxi to/from airport cost us 1500 rubble's and took approx 25 mins.

  Great Stay!

  We stayed at the Valentin during the 2018 World Cup. There is a language barrier but hotel staff are extremely friendly and really try to help. I would suggest using a translating app. We used google translate and had no issues. Location of the hotel is very good - close to bus stations, super market and the beach strip.
