  Huge rooms - good breakfast

  The hotel seems to be quite new. Some things need to improve but most things work well. Stayed for 3 nights - paid 100 usd and got a huge 2 bedroom aprtment with kitchen and lounge! Also two bathrooms! The large bedroom had a stonehard bed so after 1 nights sleep there i moved over to the smaller bedroom with a softer bed. DSTV moviechannels on the TV - unfortunately no TV in the bedroom but in the lounge. Good waterpressure in both showers. However one day there was a powercut and even if the hotel had a generator i needed to ask the to put it on- that should obviously be an automatic thing. Breakfasts are very good and served quickly - fruitplate and eggs of your choice. Strong good coffee. There is a fastfood place some few meters away - nothing to recommend. Walk instead 400 meters to Cayenne.

  Terrible and scary security incident

  I stayed at this place. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night to a guy standing right at my bedside. I started screaming, and he ran off, but I wasn't sure what he was up to so I stayed shouting for security from my bed. The cleaning lady had been leaving all windows of the room wide open, and when I came home at night I was apalled and closed then locked all the windows. It is a big apartment space so I forgot one of the windows. He apparently came through that one. It is outrageous that they leave windows open all day. And obviously they don't have the security personell to check that people are not climbing in through windows. When I talked to the manager, the next morning, he told me there was such an incident two weeks ago. Really? And you still didn't both to take care of having security outside and the cleaners to lock windows? In short, if you like your life, don't stay here.

They even don't help to call the police or anything. There are burglars every week but the hotel managers are not interested to make it sure...

  Nice and kinda pricy

  The place is nice and secured however I believe it is a little bit costy! The staff are friendly especially Brenda! We had few complains in the beginning and action was taken immediately! They need to take care about the room service and make sure to spray the mosquitos. They offer free GYM, steam room and Sauna. Over all I would recommend it...

  Modern but could do with a few basic changes

  Valencia is an apartment block in Kampala, Uganda. It in close proximity to downtown Kampala and is close to reasonably priced restaurants. I found the apartment I was in to be very well furnished with modern furniture. The apartments are very spacious and tastefully decorated. The apartments have a club and a gym. unfortunately this can be pretty noisy most nights with patrons talking loudly and music blaring into the wee hours of the morning. During my stay I wanted to use the treadmills at the gym but was told the treadmills were not working. Having said that, my apartment was on the fourth floor so that provided me with ample daily exercise. The staff at Valencia are the reason I would recommend the apartments. They are very polite and promptly handled any given problem I encountered. The rooms were kept clean by the housekeeping staff though on my first day I personally did a lot of wiping down the furniture as it was very dusty. The staff could maybe try and clean the rooms thoroughly before a new guest arrives. The master bedroom could do with a new mattress. It was as good as sleeping on the floor as the mattress was extremely thin. The apartment only had one electric plate working on the stove/cooker. I was told there was no gas connection to the other plates for safety reasons. Maybe they can invest in electric cookers with 4 plates. This made it very hard to cook meals for my family using only one plate. Breakfast at Valencia was great though overly priced. Families with young children could be assigned one end of the apartment block. My neighbours left their door open and constantly had kids making lots of noise through the day and sometimes late in the evening. An iron should be provided in every apartment instead of having to call for one on a daily basis. Please fix the hole in the roof. When it rains the stairs get wet and this can be hazardous and slippery. No sign was put on the stairs when the rain pooled all over stairs from the wide gaping hole in the roof of the apartment facing the main entrance. I would definitely stay at Valencia again but hopefully they will take on the comments guests make and make some changes to make it an even better experience for everyone.
