  As nice as any hotel

  Wow. What a surprise. Large, clean room. All amenities. And half the price of a regular hotel. Efficient Front Desk staff. Bed was very comfy. Only niggle is the coffee machine - it made dreadful coffee & even worse tea but Ive found all Keurig coffee makers in hotels do that.

  Pretty Bad

  I must say, I've experienced better but for a university, I guess it fits the bill. It feels a bit run-down, but overall a nice feel. The rooms were about average size, and the location is great for the university, and restaurants all in the area.

  Upon arrival, the room appears nice - clean and bright with all the usual amenities. Unfortunately, there is a wifi booster on the ceiling that lights up the entire room at night making it virtually impossible to sleep without either the blankets or a pillow over your head! The shower has absolutely no water pressure at all... water barely has enough force to come past the end of the shower head...when this was mentioned to the front desk we were advised it to was a low flow shower. My definition would be closer to no flow! To be fair, its only a 2 star but for $400 for 2 nights, we were expecting to be able to at least sleep and shower! We were here for a medical procedure at the University hospital that required accommodations close by in the event of complications - might be worth staying a bit further away next time!

  Lister Hotel Room

  I stay in Edmonton several times a year for work. This January I stayed a week at the hotel portion of Lister at a rate of $109 a night. These are located on the second floor of Lister just down the hall from the conference centre and the Lister dining centre. As my work was at the conference centre, I found the 1 minute walk down the hall commute incredibly convenient. No worrying about finding parking or travelling winter streets. The room was clean and large and came with a mini fridge, a desk, couch, and comfortable queen bed. Hot water pressure was fine and the building was very quiet. I had a couple of evenings when I stayed in and used the dining centre. For $16 this is the best deal in town. All you care to eat and drink. Incredible array of pizzas, pastas, salad bar, soups, chicken, beef, vegetarian and gluten free options. Yes, this is the student dining centre but is open to those using the hotel as well. Certainly not like the residence food the universities used to offer! Note, these are NOT the dorm rooms which are available in the summer months. I stayed in one of those once and the small bed was horribly uncomfortable. Yes it was cheaper at $75 a night but my aching back paid the price.

  Comfortable and quiet

  I was in Edmonton to attend my medical school class reunion, and wanted to stay near the campus that had been such an important place in my life in the 1970s. This accommodation was perfect - central, comfortable and quiet with the dining hall just a few feet from my room. The UofA pool is just across the street.
