Excellent Stay in the Greystone SuiteThis is a very well run B&B with an excellent central location in Montreal. We were glad we chose the greystone suite. It was very well appointed and had an updated bathroom with an incredible shower. It was also great having a stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The living room sofa pulled out into a bed for extra sleeping space. The room was very quiet and clean and has its own dedicated (fast) wi-fi. It is located on the upper floor with no elevator, so pack accordingly. The included continental breakfast was good. The warm croissants were excellent. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was great having garage parking available (for a fee). It was worth avoiding the hassle of street parking given the construction in the area. There are three spots in the garage and our Toyota Highlander fit well, but anything larger would be difficult. The location was great with a manageable walk to downtown and the metro. The walk to the old port area is longer, but not out of the question. I hope to return in the future for another stay.

Brick Suite......Brick Bed & Super soft MattressStayed in the brick suite for the last 4 nights. Whilst technically the room was clean and as described (photos a little to generous to reality) you need to be aware of a few issues. Firstly, the bedstead comes complete with an additional wooden base to boost the bed height and is topped with the softest mattress we have ever encountered. Needless to say both my husband and I suffered back pains as a result. Secondly, the walls are paper thin. So much so we could yell at the kids running about above us and they would stop, for a while at least. This brings us on to the next issue of privacy. On three occasions we were trying to have some alone time and were interrupted by; 1 - the owner trying to show the apartment to a potential tenant. 2 - Unknown visitor. 3 - the cleaner trying to get to clean our room on the day we were leaving. Lastly breakfast is ok but an extreme lack of variation. There's only so much you can do with cereal, yogurt and a small variety of pastry/bread. Wouldn't touch the meat as its left out for 3 hours and returned to the fridge for the next day. We can't comment on the people as the most interaction you could get from them is to take your breakfast drinks order, they seem to prefer to sing along to the radio as opposed to engage with the guests. Walk in to downtown is a good 15/20 minutes and bare in mind it's uphill on the way back!! Nice city but we wouldn't stay at this b&b again.

We loved this quirky bed and breakfast close to McGillWe stayed at the University B&B for the final 2 nights of a bike tour from Toronto to Montreal. We arrived in the pouring rain dripping wet and creating puddles on the floor - not a problem at all - we were shown quickly to our room " the brick suite" and able to wheel our bikes straight into the room. The Brick suite was conveniently located on the ground floor and was utterly charming with wrought iron bed, fire place ,table and chairs , tiny kitchen and en suite bathroom - it was perfect for us. A word of warning - this is an old house with wooden floors so there will be some noise from the upstairs rooms as people walk about. This did not really bother us at all. The B&B is located very close to McGill and is uphill from downtown Montreal - this was not a problem for us but might be an issue for some people - it's a 10 minute walk from everything - very close to Mount Royal too. Breakfast is simple but delicious - it suited is perfectly but it is not a hot breakfast . We loved our stay here and will return when we next visit Montreal.

Pleasant stay, convenient locationThe University B&B is well located to McGill University and had a more or less friendly staff. The room (grey room on 3rd floor) is a mini suite and ample room for sure. The climb is all stairs but manageable. Breakfasts are ample with eggs, meats, yogurt, cereal etc. They have a 3 car garage and I made a reservation for a spot. Another guest without a car reservation parked there and so I didn't get to. That was mildly annoying as management acknowledged the problem but did not resolve it.

Perfect for people visiting McGillThe location is great if you are dropping off your McGill student or visiting. The street is very quiet yet walking distance to many busy streets with shopping and dining options. The suite we were in (beige) is spacious for 2 people. Excellent wifi. Friendly staff and very good coffee at breakfast.
