  Excellent location for active bike tour lovers

  We decide to stay in this hotel as our final destination after a long bike trip Fortezza-Dobbiacco. We were very happy to see that this hotel is included in the bike road and we didnt waste time to find it! But unfortunately check-in and check-out times are not that friendly, also the breakfast time is a little bit late for those who have a long trip ahead to start early in the morning. Also our room was close to the train station and the poor sound isolation of the room did not spare us from all the noises and we didnt had a good night sleep.

  Fabulous Hotel

  This family run hotel is fabulous - very friendly staff and attentive service. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the train station and probably another few minutes into the "downtown" core....Dobbiaco is a small centre but has everything you need. The spa at the hotel is one of the nicest I have seen; very impressed with the size of the swimming pool, the rooms are comfortable with good beds and nice balconies overlooking the area; the food was very very good - we were on the half board plan - lots of choices for breakfast and dinner - again lots of choice. One could choose from three different menus for every day. We were sorry we could not stay a week!

  Clean and spacious rooms, good service

  During a week-long hiking holiday we stayed here one night at the beginning of our trip and two nights at the end. The first night we had a classic room with balcony, which was spacious but rather basic not much in the way of decoration. The last two nights we had a family room (although we were only two persons) which was bigger and had an extra bed, which we used to put our luggage on. The decoration was still a bit sparse but the room was quite big, very clean, and had all the amenities you can expect. So from what we saw, the rooms are spacious and clean, but not quite the cosy alpine-style rooms you get in some other hotels in the area. But we enjoyed our stay at the Union nonetheless everything worked well and the service at the reception and restaurant was very good. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

  Two weeks skiing

  Stayed at the hotel for two weeks whilst taking part in the Ca.STA event in the valley. Enrico and family looked after us so well, they catered to all our needs and provided great quality food day after day. They were also flexible for us when we were racing and adapted meal timings. The location is ideal, just 150m from the triangle station. You can get to all of the slopes from this single line on modern and reliable trains. The Union's facilities are more than you'd expect from a 3* hotel. The pool is great for cooling down and the spa area is perfect when not too busy. The massage therapies offered are at a good standard and excellent value. We'll be back again!

  It could be 4 dots but...

  Strategic position, clean and the trains passing by are not a problem at all. Unfortunately our room was facing west and the nice balcony with the full glass windows on it made the staying in the room quite unpleasant because the lack of air conditioning (in July). If we decided to stay in before 8pm it was a no-no. Swimming pool and wellness: The swimming pool was ok. To be honest too cold but that is an personal opiion. Wellness area is not extremely big, but decent. I tend to criticize only one thing: charging 8 Euros per bathrobe wasn't expected. Food was ok. We stayed half board and dinner was acceptable. It was most of the time a well described menu enriched by nice wording, but in the end the quantity or the dish itself wasnt "so generous"and as fancy as described. As I understand due to COVID there has been a huge impact on hospitality industry, and in this delicate moment everyone in that sector has to improvise most of the time, sometimes it translates in a non precise service. As an example, we've asked few things about transportation's and tourist info at the desk but they weren't neither accurate nor complete.
