  Hotel y hostel de diseño para todos los gustos y presupuestos

  Un gran hallazgo en Tainan, hotel y hostel, con detalles de diseño, sala común cómoda con almohadones y lugar de lectura, mesas y gran cocina. También una amplia terraza para descansar y tomar algo, por las noches está toda iluminada con lamparitas, imperdible.Tiene cuartos privados de gran elegancia, baños completos y cuartos compartidos modernos y cómodos. La ambientación tiene que ver con la música, se pueden pedir discos de pasta para escuchar en antiguos tocadiscos. El hotel está muy bien ubicado, a pocos pasos de los principales atractivos de la ciudad.

  Loved it!

  I stayed here for two nights, in a double room on the 8th floor, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The bedroom and bathroom both felt spacious and were very well kitted-out, including a record player, with albums available to borrow from reception. All the public spaces are very cool, including a lovely large terrace on the 3rd floor. The location is perfect, a great base to explore the city and a two minute walk from the bus stop to take you to Anping via the no. 2 bus. I would definitely stay here again if I ever came back to Tainan.

  Artsy Hotel with reasonable price

  U.I.J Hotel & Hostel - is one of the most popular and trendiest hotels recently in Tainan. The owner tried to run the business and focus on environmental sustainability at the same time. You can tell by a lot of details and what they care about during your stay. There were only 6 options on their breakfast menu but each set was delicate and delicious with beautiful arrangement. Our favorites were #1 Milkfish rice soup which was a signature dish originated from Tainan and #2 Salmon Onigiri which is Japanese style rice ball with salmon.

  Beautiful decor but hostel is not comfortably functional

  The interior design and ambiance of this hotel/hostel is incredible. It's like Taiwan Soho House or Hoxton line of hotels. The touches and finishes are really thoughtful and cool. The terrace is gorgeous and the bathrooms are very modern and new. The hotel/hostel is only three years old and definitely feels newer than that. And while it's beautiful, it's really not comfortably functional. I stayed in the hostel portion and my review is based on that experience. This is truly a hotel, not a hostel. The hostel rooms are egregiously expensive, $800 NTD post-tax for a 12-bed dorm. That's crazy. And the website doesn't list the taxes when you book so the actual cost adjusts when you finalize your booking. The dorms have real mattresses, which is a big plus, but the flap over the bed is awkward, AC is subpar so the rooms get warm even at night, WiFi is weak and the beds are literally thin pieces of wood so you hear ANY noise in the room. Even from several beds over. If this room was full, it would be really loud and uncomfortable. Locker space is good but you only get a small hand towel. And no mirrors or trash bins in the female dorm. Easy, easy misses. Slippers are provided but only come in Medium or XL, so if you're a 9-10 US (40 UK), you're out of luck. Bathrooms have excellent water pressure but the changing space is very small. Kitchen is communal and also very well organized and stocked. There is a guest fridge too which is nice. Breakfast is available for $250NTD - $300 NTD, walking tour is $250 NTD. Staff speaks fair English but there was a mixup at check in which lead to a lengthy wait for them to correct it later on. I was also the only one temp checked multiple times, which as a foreigner, feels a bit targeted. The hostel is like a Monet. From far away it's okay (or even beautiful) but as you get closer it's a big old mess. I stayed two nights and then left early for another hostel. I appreciate the beauty of this place but for the price, amenities and experience, it didn't add up. Location though is great for the main sights and close to buses to access them.

  Modern Hotel

  UIJ is a modern, boutique-ish, well located, and perfectly maintained hotel in the downtown part of Tainan. We stayed for one night in the hotel part. The lobby was stylish, total hipster, and has its own coffee shop. Our room was on the 9th floor facing east. Like the lobby and rest of the hotel, the rooms was modern, clean, and well maintained. All the usual amenities were included, plus toothbrush, toothpaste and other toiletries you usually wouldn't expect as complimentary. The room also had a neat turntable/record player, with 2 records that you could always exchange for downstairs. We took a stroll through the 3rd floor hostal area, was spacious and full of activity. The breakfast on the first floor was great, there were 4 sets available and included with our room. Highly recommended!
