  Wouldn't be my first recommendation!

  By the looks of it, this is definitely a very beautiful hotel located in the city center of Kigali. I enjoyed the views from the rooftop swimming pool and bar, you also get an obstructed view of Kigali, the rooms are pretty clean and the WiFi was great. My frustration was mainly dealing with the staff. I felt customer service pretty slow and selective. We waited for 1 hour for our breakfast (eggs) to come, and a good 25 min to get coffee. When we asked the staff what was taking long, they seemed not to care that much. Anyways, that's my personal opinion, I think there are better places you can find nearby with better service.

  Rendezvous on the rooftop

  What a delightful place! We met some friends there for lunch (I'd love to go back in the evening and enjoy the lights of the city). Beautiful positioning and the roof is high enough to really provide a good lay of the land. Service was a bit slow - but perhaps that's because we ordered off the a la carte menu rather than choosing the full buffet (RWF 15,000 for lunch and it looked good!). Our party of 4 each tried different items - a giant(!) beefburger with bacon, cheese and egg and french fries; a chicken tika dish with rice and chapati, a smoked salmon salad, and a dal dish with rice and chapati. All of our food was very tasty and presented well. Prices are a bit on the upper side, but still reasonable. Overall, we were really happy about our visit and food, and look forward to going back again.

  Ubumwe rooftop restaurant

  Came for the great views of Kigali, and was not disappointed. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. Probably the best views of the city. This rooftop is absolutely a must see when in Kigali.

  Quarantine Stay

  I stayed at Ubumwe on Quarantine for 24 hours suring my trip to Rwanda.. The check in was quick, the room was spacious and modern.. the only drawback was the food .. it was not tasty and the in room dining service is a little bit slow .. other than that the hotel is excellent.. please dont forget to check the rooftop cafe .. the view is amazing.

  A fantastic visit!

  I have visited the rooftop restaurant many times on previous trips to Rwanda, and it is one of my favorite places in the city. Because of the Covid quarantine requirements, I had to select a hotel for my 24 hour quarantine while awaiting the results of my covert test. I immediately selected the Ubumwe Grande Hotel and I was definitely not disappointed! Innocent was willing to exchange money for me at a local currency exchange because I was quarantined, and Ange did a wonderful job providing superb room service! Every staff member I engage with, from the doorman, to security, the front desk, room service--it was all perfect! What a wonderful way to begin this trip to Rwanda!
