  Heres the deal!

  Ok, so after reading very mixed reviews I thought it only right to state it as it is. Weve just returned from a weeks stay at the hotel Tyrol. Ill start with the plus sides- Staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Especially the receptionists and Walter the maitree de Location was a little out of the village but not excessive and actually a nice walk. The food was excellent and varied The beds were very comfy and rooms large The rooms and hotel areas were clean Heres the downside- The hotel suffered from various maintenance issues, mainly plumbing and heating. Theres tyrolean and theres tired. This hotel is tired. It needs a good refit and refurb... and quite a bit of money spent on it. The bathroom was very 70s and bedroom a little into the 80s. The decor was lets say ecclectic! Some areas of the hotel - the spa, the pool and the dining room were cold- evidently not heated. The spa area was an attempt to keep up with other hotels in the area. Its basic and not fully functional. The shower was hit and miss. Sometimes you had hot water, sometimes not! Essentially, Im not telling you not to book here, it was fine for what we wanted. Im just hoping to manage your expectations. Just be mindful of what you pay. I would rate it no more than a 3*. Seefeld is amazing and we have booked for next year.... just not the Tyrol! However, we will make a special effort to call up for a drink and see the staff.

  Good and Bad!

  First the good: Nice traditional hotel just outside the centre, bit of a walk in. Ski bus stop close by. Good staff, spacious dining room, bar and lounge areas. Now the bad: Bedroom terrible! Had a large family room, double aspect on front of hotel. Traffic noise especially early in morning. Bathroom disgusting - toilet seat scratched and showing brown beneath, discoloured on underside. Advised Reception it needed replacing, they noted it down and did nothing. Taps on washbasin and bath dribbled constantly and would not turn off. Net curtains had holes in them. Floor tiles cracked. Toilet door stuck on floor tiles making it difficult to get in and out. Wall light in bedroom area had exposed wiring/choc block. Only 3 bulbs in 6 bulb chandelier worked. Handles missing off drawers and nearly falling off wardrobe. Asked to be moved to a better room, were shown 2 other rooms but in our opinion they had issues too!! Booked through Crystal and complained to our Rep. Some rooms may be OK but I would not recommend this one (103), it seriously needs a good refurbishment. It appears the hotel do no proper maintenance on these tired rooms, anything goes.The sauna in the Spa was OK, but swimming pool, showers and changing areas again needed some TLC. Turkish and gym not available during our stay. This hotel is spacious and could be made so nice if only they would invest some money in it. Have stayed in 3* Austrian hotels before but this room was not up to standard. Had a lovely week weather-wise and enjoyed the slopes, walks and cross-country areas.

  disappointed

  We stayed two years ago and were very impressed especially by the afternoon tea with the cake buffet, lovely Austrian fruit-cream cakes. Now it was only left-over pizza and sausage rolls and a little bit of dry cake from breakfast. Also no machine to make fresh squeezed orange juice anymore at breakfast. Very little choice of bread for breakfast. Wouldn't recommend this hotel if you love good food.

  Really not good, look at alternative places to stay. NOT 3 Star.

  We stayed in room 210.Good view of mountains but noisey as main road below. Furnishings in room scruffy, felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Intermittent WiFi. Food over cooked, salty and basic,stale cake. The staff are all Italian. Majority looked fed up. Zara on reception very helpful. Seefeld lovely for XC skiing and winter walking. Will come back, just not this hotel.

  Good All-around Hotel

  Just back from Tyrol-Alpenhof after a week skiing. A good location for ski buses and ski school. Good ski and boot room. Room was great with balcony, fridge,nice bathroom and plenty of space. Food is good. Breakfast has loads of choices and option to have freshly cooked eggs or pancakes. Afternoon tea is available if you want. Evening meals had plenty of choices,with salad bar and soups and nice desserts. Walter and his team made us very welcome and we had good fun with them all week. Overall a great stay and would not hesitate to stay again.
