A dissapoining 2nd stayOn my first visit I was impressed with Twin Pines. Our room on that visit was basic but clean & comfy. So I was looking forward to staying again. But this was not to be? Our room was quite dingy with no milk for teas/coffees. There was only one small hand towel. A bath mat & a flannel. When I went to the office at about 7.30 the reception was closed & locked. This visit was such a contrast to our previous visit. I went back next morning about 7.30am & it was still closed & locked. I hope things will improve but for the time being I will not revisit.

Not the greatestWhen looking for a place to stay my primary concern is:does it have a comfortable bed, a decent shower and a quiet place to stay. This place was quiet, except the birds which nobody had control over, the bed was moderately comfortable. The shower worked. On the downside, the room was not the cleanest, the space under the door was wide enough for many undesirable characters to enter the room and the air conditioning was not big enough to handle the heat/humidity. Out of 7 different stays in Australia this would rank last

Comfortable and affordableObviously the motel has been around a long time, so it is not full on modern, but it was comfortable, and had everything we needed for a 1 night stay, and considering the location, it was pretty quiet. I did however, hate the shower head, it really needs to be replaced.

Dirty & UncomfortableWe arent ones to be picky about accomodation - as long as we have a clean room, a hot shower, a comfy bed and a safe place to sleep we are happy. It is budget accomodation so we didnt expect much but it was one of the worst places either of us have ever stayed. We arrived at the accomodation and the lady was friendly and put a cable into our room for the tv. We then went out for food and a few drinks and it was on our return that our stay gradually went downhill. At the current time, you expect places to be clean and sanitised due to COVID however it looked like our room hadnt been cleaned for months. There was litter on the floor, hair on the sink, used cosmetic scissors in the bathroom, cigarette ash in the window sill, the microwave was full of dried food, there were glow sticks in the fridge, a sock or something covering the smoke detector, a used straw next to a dirty comb with white powder on it on top of a light. It felt like we were in a room someone had been living in but theyd just left for the night for us to stay in it. In the evening a couple in the room below were arguing about shooting up and threatening to kill each other. The safety latch on the door didnt have a chain and the door between us and the room next door was unlocked. The bed sheets were so stained (yellow, brown and even blood looking ones) we went out and bought glen 20 to spray everything. We thought it was strange to have some standard cutlery in the cupboard yet a huge knife just sitting on the side next to the tea bags. We were woken at 6:30am by extremely loud screaming pipes. If we hadnt had a few beers we would have packed up and gone back home. Wouldnt stay again and wouldnt recommend.

Would not stay againI understand it is a budget hotel, but even for the price I would expect as a minimum - A door for the bathroom and milk for tea/coffee. Would not re-visit. Better to spend a bit extra money and stay elsewhere.
