  Nice quiet hotel by the fjord

  Nice hotel by the seaside with a view to the fjord. Very quiet when I went, since it was off-season. Practical with free parking in front. Nice breakfast also. Slightly overpriced as many things in Norway.

  Wonderful! The new owners have lifted this nice old hotel to a new standard.

  We use to stay at this hotel once a year when we visit Tvedestrand and the Risør Boat Festival. Over the years, we were concerned about a decline in standard. But now, with the new owner, this charming hotel is back on track and a place you should not miss when visiting southern Norway. Very nice service, good and modern rooms, and very good breakfast. Together with the prime location at the little harbor in Tvedestrand and the beautiful surroundings, this hotel deserves my rating to Excellent. We will be back next year.

  First and last visit

  Stayed 2 nights and regret it. Had we known and been warned by the hotel that their restaurant/bar on Pir4 was open until 0200 with loud music we would not have stayed here. Pir4 is owned by the hotel and they probably make more money selling food and alcohol than they make on the rooms. Complained about the noise and got offered ear plugs. Hotel is a little shabby and frankly breakfast is some what chaotic. No frills in the room. Don't expect a coffee maker. Dogs in the restaurant at breakfast. Sorry, but this hotel did not live up to our expectations.

  Stunning view

  I miss the view! A lovely hotel with water views. It's in a great location with clean rooms and a very friendly and helpful receptionist. Big thank you to reception for helping us with our transfer to the airport,much appreciated. The breakfast was very average, same thing served everyday and minimal options for allergy sufferers plus running out English Breakfast tea and juice most mornings. I would recommend this hotel.

  Heel veel lawaai/ much noise

  Zeer matig hotel. Veel lawaai zowel binnen als buiten. S Nachts geen personeel aanwezig. Erg warm, maar geen verwarmingsknop te zien. Erg oude glorie. Very noisy inside and outside. No staff in the evening and night. Much too warm in the room without possibility to turn lower. Very old building and rather dusty.
