  Grandchildrens vacation

  I booked Turtle Beach Resort to have four nights with my grandchildren and elderly sister. I specifically requested a ground floor unit with no steps. We arrived and had a ground floor unit with 6 steps up to it. Other units around us had ramps which would have been more ideal. There is no lift so the higher floors would not suit us. The complex is large. Overcrowded and quite frankly the superior apartment was very spacious but basic and ours had seen better days. There was a distinct musty smell...particularly emanating from the ensuite bathroom...the ceiling fans were unusable and hanging off when operated as well as extremely noisy. The fittings are extremely old and need renewing. The balconies were filthy. The bathroom tiles had mould on them which I cleaned off. For four people we had one washer provided. The beds were not all that comfortable although main double was ok. The unit was basically clean. The pools were deep, not ideal for little ones and older children were unsupervised, rowdy and out of control. The spas were filthy. The shopping complex across the street is a good 10 minute walk away..with no access from resort. There is a convenience shop which annoyingly only took cards no cash. Its pricey as well. The restaurant was very nice food and plentiful serves. The gardens are nicely kept. Puttputt is all over the shop so we didnt bother playing. Adults only pool is full of kids at times. You could never get tennis courts. Staff are nice. The best part is the shuttle bus...this is a great service. We asked for 30minutes extra on checkout which was denied. Our bus didnt collect us for the airport for 45 mins and with 2 toddlers this was not ideal. Would I go back ? No. I would get a smaller unit complex with a pool in a more desirable location. The resort is old and tired and needs a good refurbishing. Definitely suited to older kids.

  4 day stay

  We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was nicely situated in the quieter area of the resort. The star rating is apparently 4 however I would definitely say that the room we were in was only 3 stars. The facilities for a family friendly stay are good but for the price of $1,400 for 4 nights the apartment was very basic. The carpet & lovely large veranda were DIRTY. We did not use the verandah as a result which is a shame. How easy would it be to replace the awful carpet with laminate or other flooring. If these 2 things were improved the ambience in the apartment would have improved 100%. The cafe meals were decent as was the friendly staff. The pools and outdoor spaces were well tended. Overall a pleasant stay & good for families with children but the rating for accommodation is over rated based on our apartment.

  Christmas holidays with the family

  We booked Turtle beach after our holiday to Noosa had to be canceled due to something coming up before Christmas. When I went to rebook in January, I was initially disappointed there was no availability and so my friend suggested Turtle beach resort on the Gold Coast instead. Well, what a wonderful turn of event that turned out to be! The resort was amazing for my four kids and super relaxed for the adults! Our family suite was spacious and clean with a great view to the pools, splash zone and cafe/bar. The beach was just across the road! We really had the best time and will certainly be coming back! I am sad to be home Service was lovely too - as was the weather!

  perfect family holiday

  We have just completed a 6 night stay with an 11 year old and 1 year old and I have absolutely zero complaints about turtle beach. It has everything you need to pretty much just stay here on site with the odd walk to the beach or even to pacific fair. Our room was the perfect size (2bedroom) we were on the second floor, but its completely not an issue for carrying the pram etc... and it gave us a nice view of the pools. The pools were clean, the restaurant was fantastic and even did takeaway for when your little ones are asleep and you still wanted a nice meal. Honestly I cant fault it and I would really recommend it to anyone who wants to have a family holiday on the Gold Coast!

  Family/Children Oriented Resort

  There's a lot to like about the resort. It has an abundance of pools and plenty of child/family oriented activities. The underground parking means that parking isn't an issue. Our two bedroom apartment was spacious and comfortable enough (except in the bedrooms once the afternoon sun hit them). The areas for improvement focus on maintenance, especially doors that don't close properly and ventilation. There is an air conditioner in the main living area, but down the hallway on the western side of the building, the two bedrooms only have fans that struggled, and failed to cool these rooms on hot summer days before mid-evening. This was a real challenge when trying to put an infant to bed in a stuffy, warm room. The toilet in the hallway has no ventilation. How did that get through the building code. No exhaust fan???
