  Classy but laid back.

  My title represents exactly that, the Zante Maris oozes class along with the feel-good factor of laid back Greece. We didnt like it, we LOVED it! Only a 20 minute run from the airport through the small town of Tsilivi, check in prompt after completion of Covid safety forms. Our room was exactly what we upgraded to: pool view and sea view, the beach literally seconds away. I would describe our room as our very own beach hut, tastefully refurbed last year apparently; bathroom twin basins made out of larva rock, powerful rain shower and wand shower, comfortable beds (changed sheets every third day), copper bedside tables, longest shelf made from one piece of tree trunk, tv, spare sofa bed and decked balcony. The ceiling was all made from reeds, very tasteful. Restaurant have all distancing measures to adhere to, lots of choice from the different sections and hot food served to you from behind Perspex screens and given to you via a small slot at counter level. Breakfasts I particularly enjoyed the various flavours of Greek gogurt, hubby full English every day, plates warm enough to hold not scold. Different choices of breads, unusual one I chose was black bread, fresh and delicious. Evening meals outstanding choices including typical Greek food, lamb, beef, pork and I loved the salmon fillet which had been baked in a salt crust. Tables disinfected, drinks served promptly and thankyou to Aris for my rosé wine top ups and Tia Marias! The Culinarium Restaurant (Beach House snack bar during the day) was fab-u-lous! Tables overlooking Kefalonia at sunset will stay in my memory for ever. A gastronomic eve awaits from raspberry champagne on arrival, soup choices (I loved the cold melon soup), hot appetiser or cold appetiser (roasted octopus was excellent), fillet steak enjoyed by hubby, I opted for sea bass for my main served on a bed of lemon infused small pasta tubes, great dessert choices including cheeseboard, lemoncello liqueur to end. So good we booked for a second visit, expected to pay as only allowed one visit to The Culinarium per stay, however we were not charged on check out. Entertainment not on at this time but Tui reps did their best to provide - Rea singing Shallow one evening was so good and Harrys quizzes very good. When on the beach, Zante Maris have their own very comfortable sun beds, waiter service too! Best way of getting the most out of your stay is by downloading the Tui app, the info is detailed including daily activities such as yoga, aqua aerobics, walking tours and services requests such as clean towels, room service, wake-up calls and the like. I must thank a special lady in the restaurant Eleanor, she is an asset to the hotel, friendly and personable, one-to-one skills go a long way.

  Gem of a hotel

  Just had 11 nights at this wonderful hotel. Could not fault it. Due to covid19 evening entertainment could not be held, but thanks to Harry and Raya they worked tirelessly all day and some evenings. Harry giving us some testing quizzes and Raya her singing, the evenings had good vibes. Every single member of staff were so friendly and helpful, could not do enough for you. The food was excellent and coved restrictions adhered to, serving your food behind Perspex blinds. Hand sanitizers were plentiful and all staff wore face masks. Felt very safe and secure. TUI staff were extremely helpful and polite Would definitely return to this hotel- loved every minute !!

  Great quick get away ( know quarantine)

  Staff excellent on beach always ready to help and get you drinks Very covid friendly always cleaned down every where Just remember no t pots ect in rooms ask if you want at reception this due to covid Cleaners wont come daily unless you ask due to covid so if you want remember to ask daily Food well sorted and very good to me being disabled all staff managers ect was very well looked after x We loved Betty x

  Very brief review as other reviewers have said it all. Fabulous, relaxing holiday. Hence the z's. Great food, great staff and management (TUI and hotel) and spotlessly clean. So what does ZM mean to me and my good lady wife? Zero Moans and Zillions of Merits.

  Absolutely incredible

  Incredible all inclusive hotel. The food was outstanding with excellent Covid 19 procedures for serving/cleaning etc. Service and staff were also amazing. Best all inclusive cocktails Ive had although they did change sometimes so I think all staff could have better training on cocktails so you know exactly how to expect it when ordering! Nevertheless most were still drinkable (apart from the fluorescence green mojito)! Its a fairly small complex but has a range of areas for both sunbathing and eating with 3 bars and a few pools. Generally comfort wise it was amazing with the best sun loungers Ive ever used (more like beds!) but some of the seats at the bar were uncomfortable but I heard from someone else that the manager has already had bad feedback on those chairs and will replace for next year which is amazing. The manager and tui rep were visible nearly every day, multiple times a day - so attentive and you can tell they are keen to keep up the high standards. Some of the staff serving food (behind screens) could improve their English but baring in mind Covid foods for the first time prevented guests accessing the buffet themselves I thought they were excellent. Tsilivi is a busy, touristy area but plenty to do if you want a break from the hotel. The surrounding beach isnt great quality so if you like a long beach run or romantic walks on the beach then this area probably isnt for you. Only criticism is the cost of the spa treatments - it was far too expensive. I dont know if they were fully booked but I doubt it. Afterwards we went to Athens and I had a 5 star treatment 90 min treatment for 75 euros... the Zante Maris hotel were charging 125 Euros for a 75 minute Cretan Massage from memory. Massages a short way up the beach were only 20 euros for 30 min too. I appreciate the service and treatment would have no doubt been exceptional but the prices were too expensive relative to what customers had paid for the holiday and custom was missed out on. Room service was a reasonable price to get the all inclusive room delivered to your room. I wouldnt hesitate in recommending this hotel. Lyndsey
