    Great modern design hotel

    Truly enjoy my stay here. The room was tastefully design. Enjoy the private and public onsen. Would definitely come back here. They have fantastic dinner and breakfast served. A short walk of 10 minutes from the train station.

    What a wonderful hotel in Hakone!

    I love this hotel. It is clean and modernly stylish. and its service is great. Even though Japanese reviewers feel the room is small and not a traditional ryokan, I prefer here to most of Japanese old fashioned ones. I'd like to visit here again and recommend to others.

    Beautiful n convenient place

    It was a very good choice hotel we picked for a one night at Hakone. It is very near to Gora Station. Beautiful mountainous scenery with the river flow sound make it a therapeutic place to destress n rejuvenate! Free flow of beers at the rooftop level. Good onsen facility... not forgetting the best set of full breakfast! Simply love it but the price seem to be escalating! Cant afford now .... Rosalyn from Singapore

    good for foreign visitor,but

    as a hotel in japan, this hotel room is big and clean, foods is fine , provide free drinking, good for visitor I think. But as a guest who want enjoy good japanese hotspring hotel service, this hotel is not perfect. for example, the dinner start time be limited 17:30 or 20:00 even if I want start at 18:30. They provide air bath in balcony of room, but they don`t prepare water in bath before guest enter, guest need to release water by themselves,and this air bath `water is just water not hot-spring water. The last not good point is the bath clothes is ugly , you need to pay 540yen for use a lady Yukata. Totally,this hotel is fine, better than average,and depend on which point that you care for , price , service, foods, location. I will choose other hot-spring hotel in Hakone next time.

    Worst ryokan I have ever come across

    I have been to many ryokan in Japan and always find them very satisfactory. This place has really put us off. The worst part is their service. The first point of contact at the reception hardly had any smile on his face. He didn't really seem to like us coming which we all found quite odd in Japan. But the real worst is their restaurant staff. The 5 of us got put in a table surrounded by 3 walls (like a box) where the staff couldn't access any side of the table except one end. During a kaiseki meal, there are many many pots and plates and bowls. After every single dish, the waitress would make us pass all our plates, pots and bowls back. Seriously after every dish. I could bear it when it was during dinner as we would need space anyway, but when it has come to near the end that we started to have dessert, she still made us pass the crockery, I said to her "can't you wait till the end then you clean up the table?" but apparently she couldn't understand and couldn't be bothered to solve my question. I got really annoyed when she made us pass the big hot pot used for sukiyaki which was still very HOT. For the whole dinner, we felt like we were doing her job, we should have asked for a day's pay. The sleep quality is also poor, the single beds are extremely small, and the mattresses look like they come from the worst quality possible. I also find the room smells a bit. There is a air purifier in the room that I had to keep on for the whole time. There is a window right outside our room that was left opened, that means a lot of mosquitoes gathered outside our room. Every time we opened the door, some mosquitoes would have followed inside.
