  Tshwene never Disappoints

  Coming back to Tshwene for the second time reminded us why we came back. The most amazing staff to welcome you to a secluded lodge tucked away in the hillside. Game viewing of the highest quality with a great chance of seeing the Big 5 thanks to the knowledgeable guides. 3 course meals for lunch and supper, out of this world. We will definitely be going back every opportunity we get

  Tshwene set a new benchmark

  Having not been able to go on our planned trip in April we booked this weekend at the end of October. From the moment we were picked up at the gate to drop off today everything was faultless! With only 5 rooms it is private and we got a brilliant group of co guests...to say its the best food we have eaten in a long time is an understatement...make sure you get the oxtail if you go!!! Laptop (chef) and April (game ranger / guide) two of the most charming and talented humans I have met!! Well done team Tshwene!!!

  Excellent anniversary celebration at this venue

  We made a decision to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary at Tshwene Lodge in Welgevonden Game Reserve. We had such a great time and made valuable memories and all thanks to the entire staff at the lodge. Our Main Guide was a gentleman by the name of Steven. He took care of us and ensured that our weekend stay was a memorable one. He made all our game drives so pleasant with his calm demeanor and patience, and most importantly, his knowledge of the animals and the game reserve at large. The Big 5 experience at the game reserve is a winner. The food was top notch and thanks to Chef Sina for always making sure that our dishes met our expectations. The bar was manned by a very friendly gentleman by the name of Izy. The entire staff went all out to deliver a memorable customer experience. The cleaners always left our room clean and accommodating. The rooms have a great view of the mountains and hills and offering a great level of ambiance.

  What a great weekend!

  We had such an amazing weekend! We felt terrible that we inconvenienced the lodge, not once but twice with a late check in and an early check out (both out of our control), but the lodge management and staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Staff were friendly, drinks flowed, and overall it was a wonderful time spent together to reenergise before going back to JHB.

  Perfect weekend

  My husband and I had a perfect weekend at Tshwene Lodge. Welgevonden Game Reserve is beautiful and full of animals. The lodge is located an hour from the entrance and you are driven there by the guide through the reserve. The staff were all incredibly helpful and skilled. Our guide did a great job finding animals and being considerate of the wildlife and other vehicles. The chef did a fantastic job of meeting my particular dietary requirements. The food was delicious and varied. We got massages that were very relaxing. Those women definitely know how to put power into the right spots. The lodge itself was lovely, quiet, peaceful, and completely secluded. There are only 5 rooms, so 10 people max. A great choice for a romantic couples trip. We enjoyed the outdoor shower off the side of the room. There was good wifi at the main building and it reached out to rooms 1 & 2. Note, the lodge is not wheelchair accessible and would be difficult for someone who can't climb many stairs or walk on uneven ground. Overall we had an amazing time and would go back again next weekend if we could.
