  Super friendly hotel

  We have just had a 6 night family ski trip over Christmas at Trysil Hotel. We (parents and 3 kids late teen - early twenties) all loved our stay here. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help with anything you require. If you are looking for the corporate experience then this is not the place for you. However if you want a small family friendly hotel, great food and drink (not the fast food options on the slopes) then we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We liked the no reception concept, keypad with code for the rooms was great as no need to worry about a key! The rooms are minimalist in design but warm and cozy, with comfortable beds and great shower. Breakfast in the attached bakery/ coffee shop was really fantastic with freshly made bread, scones, cheese, meats, fruit, yoghurt, granola, fresh juices etc. The restaurant and microbrewery in the hotel, Kveik, has only just re-opened under the current owners and the food and beer is first class. We had two vegetarians in our family and these were very well catered for too. Prices are very reasonable for the area and there are other good restaurants just a short walk away. We hired a car and drove to the slopes each day leaving our skis in a locker right next to the ski school meeting place. Boot room at the hotel was great. If you dont have a car, the ski bus stops right outside. There are two supermarkets and several shops just a short walk away. We all hope to return to Trysil and will most definitely stay here when we do.

  Ski Holiday

  Very comfortable modern hotel and the micro brewery, patisserie and restaurant are all excellent. It was great unwinding after a days skiing sat by the roaring fire and sampling the ales! Would definitely stay again.

  Fantastic cosy hotel with great breakfast - value for money

  This hotel is made with good taste. Nice lounge area with a really good restaurant/bar. It is possible to get to the ski area by the ski bus, but we just parked our car close to T2/T5. It is a small hotel, but since we are all here to ski it covers our needs perfectly.

  Handy

  Trysil is a ski town near the Swedish border, I just needed somewhere comfortable and convenient on my way north. Booked online and got a text telling me how to access my room. There was no front desk so I had a number code for the doors. Breakfast is upstairs at the café next door and is of restricted hours. I ate in the Pub which is in the same building and that was quite nice.

  Ok but no more

  When I arrived after 4 pm I still hadnt gotten the code to let me into my room. The rooms were still being cleaned they told me when I called and asked, I got a code soon after the call. I asked for a quiet room in my reservation but I got a room on the ground level with the parking lot directly outside the windows. The door out to the corridor was not blocking any sounds so I got to hear plenty from the other guests conversations and struggles to enter their room codes... The room was ok apart from the above noise issue. The breakfast was delivered in a bag, due to the corona situation, and was poor. The bread was pretty newly baked but the rest of the content was underwhelming - not even a tea bag! I had my hope up since there was a water boiler in the room.
