  Fun place with character

  This place is run by real people you can talk and have a laugh and joke with. I enjoyed my stay at this privately run hotel. Good service & friendly.

  In need of repair

  This hotel has left me with mixed feelings. Upon arrival the first impression was oops, this doesn't look too good but we were tired after a long drive and wanted to get out of the car and relax. When we walked inside we were happily greeted by the owner who immediately put us at ease. He checked us in, gave us a brief history of the property and a brief tour of the inside of the hotel. He showed us where breakfast would be served and asked what time we would like to eat. We were catching the early ferry and told him we would only like coffee so he had it waiting for us at the bar area and we couldn't have been happier before we got on our way and planned to eat after we were settled on the ferry crossing. The room& bath room were spotlessly clean, we got our computer hooked up to check e-mails with no problem and we settled in to watch a little TV before retiring for the night. The bed was not very comfortable and is in need of replacing. Extra pillows would have been nice as the ones on the bed were very flat and pretty worthless.

  Hotel average-restaurant a very nice surprise

  I agree with the prior review that this a nice enough place... A bit in need of a facelift. However, the hosts are ver nice and it is clean. The real surprise was the dinner. Very, very good and a great value! We didn't eat here the first night as we went to Becks (based on other reviews). It was good too. We ate in tonight because it was raining like crazy. What a treat! My husband had a wonderful pork chop with the mashed potatoes and I had local fish. Both were well prepared and flavorful.. The fire in the bar/dining made it especially cozy.. Worth a stop!

  Curioso

  Cuando llegas piensas: donde me he metido?. Pero que va. La fachada aunque antigua, tiene mucho encanto, y mas te la miras, mas te gusta. El personal, todos los que coincidimos, muy amables. La habitación limpia, no muy grande pero lo suficiente para estar comodo, y bonita, antigua pero bonita. Tiene parking, pero nosotros fuimos caminando desde la estación de tren y fue un paseito cuesta arriba. EL desayuno muy bien. Realmente nos gustó mucho

  Ok

  I stayed here with my dog. Some of the rooms are motel rooms with their own entrance from the courtyard. I rented one of these. There's a small cooking corner with fridge, water cooker and cooking plates but no casseroles etc. Room is small but ok, I like the entrance straight to the room, easy with a dog and also if one has more stuff to carry:). TV and wifi didn't work but I didn't need any of it so I didn't ask about it either. Small but good breakfast, it was OK to bring breakfast to room which was nice. Pool is out of order til August I think. I loved the location because the park, Bøkeskogen. Very short way for a nice forest walk. There's also a restaurant(dog friendly!) in the middle of the forest. The hill up to the hotel is kinda crazy, just saying:) I would imagine I could stay here again if traveling with my dog-its not always easy to find a place with entrance on ground level.
