Very clean and nice room.I got a king bed room. Not the biggest room but enough space to walk through it. What I liked is that it was clean. Internet connection is poor but enough to navigate. Breakfast was ok, different options.

Nice, few amenities! You have to look closely at the Tru brand by Hilton before staying so you know what youre getting for your money. This is a very minimalistic hotel brand. The looks are very modern, and the amenities are minimal. The rooms do not have any dressers, only a few shelves so you will be working out of your suitcase. There is a rolling desk and a office chair and no other seating in a king room. The end tables next to the bed are extremely hard to use. On one side there is a small round table, on the other side theres just a shelf. The round table had a phone on it which didnt even leave room to put a book down. So the phone went on the floor. The bathroom was nice and clean and has soap and lotion dispensers instead of bars and bottles. While the idea is good, they were extremely hard to get anything out of. I had to squeeze the bottle for my wife. Overall the room was very nice and clean but I doubt that I will ever stay at one again. I saw some people complain that there was no carpeting. But that is the one thing I loved about the room. I dont like carpeting because you never know whats in it. Everything worked, the TV is big, the breakfast bar is a little less than youd get at a Hampton but sufficient. Overall it is just a little less than I want in a hotel.

DisappointedWe were there the last weekend of June. Really excited to stay because of the great reviews. Room was excellent and clean. Friendly staff. Everything was great until we returned at 10 pm. Reeked of marijuana, even the rooms were saturated. Groups of young people sitting around the elevator smoking joints. Running and screaming through the halls until 3:45 in the morning. Front desk said sorry, I can't kick them out. I'll tell them to be quiet. Yeah, that didn't work. Will never go back. We have stayed in a ton of hotels. Worst experience ever. Location was great.

DisappointmentAll stuff advertised on their website should be removed. You cant advertise a bunch of stuff and still charge premium pricing and claim closed for covid. At what point is anybody going to realize that you just need to wash your damn hands. Forget the rest of the BS

Unsafe and uncomfortableStayed at the Sterling Heights Tru by Hilton for 5 nights. On the weekend, security is badly, badly needed. Groups hanging out in the parking lot smoking weed, smell of weed in the elevators, ice fights in the hallways, excessive noise, no masks on 90% of the people on the weekend - a frat house party atmosphere as another reviewer called out recently. The signs posted that excessive noise will get you evicted are a joke. The overnight associate is on their own - they can't do anything so they are ignored. Talked to the manager in the morning and he said the same... nothing they can do about it. The Tru hotel design has smaller rooms with modern furnishing so the footprint is smaller overall and the pandemic has reduced the amenities. Since their room rates are still comparable to other traditional hotels in the area, there sure should be room in the budget to pay for some security for the comfort and safety of the guests that are not there to party. And regarding the rooms, why would a room that can be booked for 2 people only have 1 chair? There should be a folding chair or something incorporated into all the modular furniture. We won't be staying there again.
