Sleek decor, paper thin walls, friendly staff, cleaning issueThis was our first experience at a TRU property, and to be honest, we werent all that impressed. Other than the sleek décor (which is kinda cool), its a pretty standard $80-90 a night hotel. Nothing special and nothing to make you go wow. One of the problems, at least at this location, is the noise coming from both the adjoining room and the highway. We could hear the entire conversation the folks next to us were having..and it went on late into the night (for the life of me I cant figure out why they would put guests right next to each other when they had plenty of empty rooms, and could have spread people out). Then there was the issue of what sounded like a motorcycle race track right outside our window. All night long we could hear blaringly loud trafficat times it even drowned out the AC. I get it that the hotel cant help if the traffic is loud, but its enough to makes us not stay there again. As other people have said, the rooms are pretty smallbut since we didnt plan on doing cartwheels or playing touch football in the room it wasnt an issue for us. I will say that, if youre traveling on business, and you plan on doing work in your room, forget it. The desk they give you is like sitting at a long TV tray; its pretty useless. On the other hand, the drive-in screen size of the television is ridiculous. TVs that large are meant to be viewed at a distance, and not six feet away in a bed. Im sure its a great TV, but when youre sitting that close it becomes all grainy. All of this, however, is small potatoes compared to me finding long black hairs in the shower stall. What that tells me is that housekeeping either, one, didnt clean well, or, two, didnt clean at all. In this environmentmeaning the world of Covid-19a hotel room should be friggin SPOTLESS. That in and of itself is a deal breaker. The only interaction we had with the staff was at the front desk. Both in the evening when we checked in, and the next morning, the person there was very friendly.

Super cleanIn the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, this is the place you want to stay. No carpet on the floors, room was essentially sealed off. Everything is new. No frills. Very modern. Bedding is entirely white. This place is not trying to hide anything. Very helpful and friendly staff. Just awesome. Only complaint: no coffee maker in the room.

Great staff, hard bedsThis hotel has the feel of a great place to stay if you are in you are age 20s-30s, good back, and want to meet other single people. If you are older, have arthritis, ,a bad back, a lot of luggage, maybe not the place for you. This is a minimalist type of hotel. The rooms are small, there are no closets, they have soap dispensers in the room instead of individually wrapped supplies. You have to squeeze the dispensers by the sink and in the shower, which means if they are not full it can take a lot of hand pressure. The beds are by far the hardest I've ever seen in a hotel room - firm, no pillow tops, and no box spring - very uncomfortable. That is a shame because you can ask for 1 bar soap at the front desk to alleviate the soap issue, but switching rooms doesn't help the bed situation, because it seems to be a common room feature. The free breakfast is a collection of high sugar individually wrapped items, regular yogurt, and a soft boiled egg. The hotel has much potential, if it had reasonable mattresses, because the rooms were amazingly clean and the bathroom had an awesome glass shower and nice sized toilet. The room floors have no carpet so they are clean also. The staff is great - very friendly and helpful. Just a little money invested by a large corporation in a decent mattress would make a big difference.

Highly Recommend! A tru gem!!This hotel is amazing! Clean (they even have a sealed lysol sticker on the door ensuring it's been cleaned and no one has been in since it's been cleaned), modern decor, comfort beds and pillows, an awesome common space in the lobby with space for games and even a pool table!, Continental breakfast, indoor pool, gym, very friendly and helpful staff!

Enjoyed our visitWe stayed 2 nights for a basketball tournament nearby as did others. I read the reviews ahead and had no worries about our upcoming stay. I expected the room to be small and it was actually just fine for us. We were only in the room a short period of time and to sleep. Everything was very clean and nice. The bathroom was also very nice, including the glass shower. I had never seen the squeeze soaps before but they worked well, no complaints. Even the shower had shampoo, conditioner and body soap for you which is a nice convenience for those that don't mind using anything provided. I personally always bring my own but I did use their body soap and it had a nice scent. We all seemed to sleep well and were rested the next morning. You do hear others quite easily in the hall but it never bothered us or woke us up so no complaints there. We really loved the lobby area with the cube furniture and another section for gathering because we had a large group of parents/kids and were able to hang out before and after the games. We also ordered pizza and used the countertop in the lobby. I was not expecting much for breakfast due to covid, some places only give a brown paper sack with some items but this hotel actually had some things laid out for you to grab and you could use their juice machine. I thought it was a nice assortment, there were bagels both regular and Udi's gluten free prepackaged (cream cheese only condiment), packaged hard boiled eggs with 2 per pack, yogurt, bottled water, muffins, clementines and you could get a breakfast sandwich upon request....it was prepackaged so you open it and just throw it in the microwave. We will be back again for the upcoming tournaments if we need to stay overnight. Tru offers blue tooth key access from your phone to get into your room if you choose not to stop at the front desk for a card. We tried this since we lost our card and it worked perfectly so it's a nice option vs pulling out a key card whenever you want to get in.
