  Ants ants & more ants

  There should not be an ant problem in a new hotel!! It doesn't matter how many you have if you find one crawling on you & others crawling on the floor, that is too many to be considered a clean room!!

  I was under impressed

  Ok, I stayed here last year driving home from Arizona and really liked it. Perhaps it is because I stayed at a Hampton the night before this and was spoiled. Upon checking in, the clerk and I talked a. bit about Covid-19...I wasn't assured of any special cleaning. But I had my own Lysol and paper-towels to wipe everything down. We got room 202 and it was just too small. I do like the minimalist vibe, but there was only 1 chair. We brought supper and had to sit on the end of the bed with the computer table to eat. The room was very clean and neat, but it was hard for two people to walk around. Sheets and Comforter were white, I like that. Perfectly weighted comforter. Sheets were too limp for me. Reading lights above bed were too bright and both sides needed to be on or off. Bed was comfortable. Great sized bathroom. Hand soap had a great smell. Great shower in size and stream. Pretty rough toilet paper. With all that said, the room was clean and we were only there one night, the price was right. The manager is the morning explained that this Hilton is the lower end, well, now I know. Also, the stairs needed to be vacuumed. And I understand that it's a crazy time, but vacuum the stairs before it gets ground in. It IS a cute place.

  Good clean hotel and friendly staff members

  I booked this room as a Hilton Gold member and got a fabulous rate. The hotel was clean, smells terrific and has large bathrooms with a walk in shower. The interaction with staff members were very positive ( I love to see people that love their job). We never been to Cedar Rapids and when we checked in Derrick gave us a great over view of the area. The hotel had printouts of various restaurants and attractions along with their covid precautions. Derrick recommended a wonderful local brew pub and it was really good. As with previous reviewers it has a European fibe. Its a great place to stay.

  Has gone downhill since last year

  Stayed a few times in 2019, and wanted to give a better review, however there has been a change in quality. Even with "special cleaning" with Covid, I had to have fresh comforter and cover sent up, mine were actually smelling bad and dirty. The water pressure in both shower and sink faucet are bad. There are things stuck to the floor that really should be cleaned up. I hope improvements happen as this hotel is in a perfect location and I like the Tru look and feel.

  Cute and clean

  We loved our stay at Tru by Hilton in Cedar Rapids! We were able to bring our dog and cat with no hassle. Room was clean, king bed was very comfy, and the hotel in general was just really cute. Happy to see the staff wearing masks and we were able to enjoy the pool safely by scheduling appointments to go in, thus avoiding other travelers during this weird Covid time. We will absolutely stay here again. It exceeded out expectations despite calling itself a budget hotel.
