    Lovely weekend

Spent the August bank holiday at this lovely hotel, location is perfect, our room was fairly spacious and very clean, bed comfortable. The staff were helpful and polite and the food was excellent. The lounge areas were comfortable and clean and pleasant to sit and watch the world go by. Covid prevented us having much evening entertainment but that did not worry me, the ballroom looked very inviting. The one way system worked well and most quests respected the covid rules. The only negatives were in the dining room where we were put on a table of four with complete strangers and one waiter seemed to expect us to come for meals at the exact time as the other couple whom we did not know and had not met before this break. One morning he refused to serve us until the other couple appeared which luckily was not long, he was rather rude and always seemed in a panic. Due to covid I would have much rather have just been on a table for two with just my husband. I wish I had commented at the time but it did not really cross my mind until we were leaving. Apart from this as I said before the food was excellent and I enjoyed all our meals. One other point, our television was so small, did not worry us as we did not want to watch television during our stay but some quests may want to especially in the colder weather. However thank you for a pleasant and comfortable break, we would love to come again.

    Stay at hotel

I went to this hotel during a Kirbys coaches holiday. The room had a comfortable bed and the bathroom a powerful shower. The meals were generally very good, both breakfast and dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is on the seafront. Recommended.

    SUPERB BEACH-FRONT HOTEL

The location of the hotel is superb - right on the seafront. The hotel is probably the best on the island. It's clean, warm and comfortable. From a welcome smile on arrival to a relaxing pre-dinner drink, to good food well served. The hotel conforms to Covid regulations and not it's fault that the bar has to close and be empty of guests at 10pm. I've been here before and it's good to see familiar faces and smiles. Good also to see a familiar entertainer - Paul Gibson - who unfortunately because of current regs can only do a non-stop two hour show, but does it well and is appreciated b y his audience. The Trouville is a hotel to be enjoyed, to simply chill, or to use as a good, central location to explore the island. Always book direct for a good value-for-money stay.

A nice place to stay in a great location

Just back from five nights at the Trouville Hotel. Great location on the sea front and I had a double room at the front of the hotel so opened the curtains each morning to the fabulous view. NB - it's really worth the extra for a room with a sea view! The hotel is comfortable and well run. I didn't have my meals there but did visit the bar which, of course, looks out to the sea. I can recommend a bottle of Ale of Wight (tip - look out for Goddard's beers elsewhere on the Isle of Wight too - the Castle in Fitzroy St, Sandown had two others when I popped in yesterday). Sandown is a great base for exploring the island. The rail station is ten minutes' walk away and bus stops are within five minutes' walk - the combination of the Island Line (rail - fastest way to Ryde) and Southern Vectis' frequent bus services mean you really don't need a car and I got to pretty much all parts over the last few days. Best of all though is the walk along the seafront to Shanklin. It only takes about 30 - 40 mins and is wonderful. Turn right out of the Trouville and carry on walking until you see a road going up to your right - that will take you into Shanklin town centre. If you carry on instead, you'll soon come to Shanklin's beach.

    An enjoyable stay 'considering'

Visited in September with G-Line Holidays from Lytham St Annes. I was unsure how the holiday would turn out because of Covid19 restrictions but was reassured by G-Line that the hotel were prepared. Our room, on the 3rd floor, was clean and comfortable with a lovely view of the coast and pier. It was suggested to us on arrival that we only request our room to be serviced otherwise staff would not enter which worked well. Dining was by waiter service only at 8:30am and 6:30pm which is typical for a 3star hotel but the food and service was very good. There was 2 nights of 'entertainment' where there was a single male singer but dancing and singing along is not allowed and seating is spaced accordingly. The bar is reasonable, there is free wi-fi, hand sanitizers aplenty around the hotel and all the staff are pleasant.
