"Bagdad Hotel" would be a better name

Huge potholes in parking lot, no carpet in parts of hallway, half the building closed off, pool looked like a bomb had gone off. Evidently they don't own a sweeper, halls littered & dirty.. Positives: the room was very clean & in good condition; breakfast was great, the attendant was pleasant & did a great job. It was convenient for our event but overall, AVOID IT!

    I can't believe they're still open.

All of the negative reviews are true. Dirty, run down, holes in the parking lot, entire hotel and ground are desperately in need of renovation and updating. I understand, that it's aged and never been a five star hotel, but seriously folks this place has been neglected for far too long. I've been there when it was a Sheraton, and it was really nice back then. It was easily a 4 star hotel then. It's a shame that it's been allowed to rot. Tonight, I stayed in a room overlooking the remains of the pool. The recliner had a broken spring poking out of one side of the seat that shredded the chair when I tried to recline it to watch TV. Three channels (including the weather channel) don't work anymore. The hot water in the tub/shower could barely be described as hot. The beds are not comfortable at all, in fact they could use some blankets that are more than just a couple of flat sheets and a thin woven cotton "blanket". And God help you if you want to bring your own food to heat in a microwave. There's a hidden refrigerator that's cool but not cold, but no microwave in your room. You can go downstairs to the old restaurant and use one of two tiny and old microwaves, but don't expect any type of dishes or even paper plates or bowls to heat your food in, because they only have styrofoam plates and bowl, and plastic spoons, forks, and knives.

Tired & in need of renovation

Overall a disappointing experience of rundown facilities. Poorly lit parking lot full of potholes, and exterior doors unlocked after dark added to the general sense of unease here. A sloppy and poorly maintained interior outweighed the efforts of front desk staff to provide a friendly welcome. Our room looked out over an ugly, mostly empty outdoor pool with cracked concrete pool deck, partially dismantled roof, and surrounded by orange plastic fencing. There was no signage to suggest work in progress. This place is in need of major renovation and better management.

    Lies, Lies and More Lies...

I surely would advise anyone that has future plans on traveling to Ithaca, NY not to book a room at the Trip Hotel Ithaca. After my experience I have deemed my stay at this establishment as the trip from Hell and I absolutely do not want any other travelers to experience all the lies that I did while there. This place promotes a safe environment and it is not. Their parking lot does not even have any lights on and is very dark. Furthermore there parking lot also needs to be paved expeditiously as it had huge pot holes throughout. This place needs some serious renovations as the carpet throughout the building took me back to the 1970's. The only difference between the carpet back then and the carpet at the Trip Hotel is that the 1970's carpet was clean back then. However in 2019 darn near 50 years later their carpet at this place is/was just dirty as well as outdated. The Trip Hotel promises a hot breakfast each morning at 7 o'clock am. You can probably figure out at this point in my review that this of course is just another falsehood at the Trip Hotel. Upon going to their eating area for this so-called hot breakfast that they promote one will find out that it's actually catered in and on most early morning breakfast occurrences it's actually not catered in at all. The guest are then told that the hot breakfast has been canceled and thereafter promised that it will be here the next day (Oh my; I saw so many disappointed faces) . Sadly I still bit the banana from the tale pipe and that next Saturday morning the breakfast was catered in to the Trip Hotel alright, but that catered in breakfast arrived at 8 o'clock am (Not 7). Thus it was not very hot and/or fresh for that matter. As to safety and securit, their perimeter doors were propped open (not locked) all night and very cold winds were accessible to enter their facilities. In closing the prices they charge to book a room here are totally outrageous and this should not be so. Heck I should've known not to rent a room here when I called this tripped out hotel time and time again and their on site staff personnel never answered their phones. All in all if the city of Ithaca's municipalities are not going to shut this place down; we the people must stop booking here in hopes to shut it down ourselves. This Trip Hotel is literally a trip; meaning it's horribly a terrible place for anyone to safely stay for a weekend or any other time of the week, month, and/or year.
