  Wild Water room, dining

  Dined late February. One of us received the wrong drink, it was replaced. One of us received entirely the wrong meal, the plate was removed with no indication when the meal ordered would be served. This friend sat for around 15 minutes not eating whilst the other three ate their meals. At NO stage was any approach made by senior staff to ask was there a problem. Patently obvious, I would have thought. The meals were very small, and seriously overpriced. When a member of the senior staff finally came to find out what we thought I said my meal, a small piece of cod, $36, and a bowl of chips, $9, was very small and very expensive. The staff member said he had been in the business in Melbourne for 13 years, and that diners had paid ten times that much for a similar meal. Oh, really, $360 for a piece of cod, and $90 for a bowl of chips? Stretching the truth a bit. Anyway, never going back.

  Sunday by the pool @ the trawool estate

  Amazing trip with the family, not too far from Melbourne but felt like a real getaway. The hotel is beautiful, with scenery to match. Great vibe all around, incredible food and exceptional service. Couldnt get the kids out of the pool for most of our stay. A must visit for anyone looking for a family escape.

  An oasis in the bush

  Have visited a couple of times over the last few months, both with different types of experiences. In January we stayed as a family for a few days, which was a great getaway. A great time in the pool was had by my four year old, and the outside gin bar was a favourite of dad's. With the rail trail out the back, I took my son for a lovely ride for an hour or so, with plenty of lovely scenery. The food in the restaurant was top notch. The smoked mayonnaise aioli they serve with their fries is enough to visit in itself. Staff are friendly, some of them still a little inexperienced, but nothing was too much trouble and their attitudes are great. Very accomodating for families too. We stayed in the refurbished motel rooms, looking out over the valley which are perfect for families. Ours was two bedroom, beds were comfortable, and the pool was close by. Lots to experience at Trawool Estate, but also a great base to visit the region as well I would imagine.

  Stunning venue.

  We went up for a day trip and had a beautiful day. We started outside in the sunshine with an amazing view of the hillside and then ventured into the bar in the afternoon. We will be coming back for sure.

  A perfect weekend getaway

  Went up for a girls weekend - and it was PERFECT. Rooms are HUGE, bed is super comfy and the bathroom is massive. Cleanliness was 10/10 - couldn't fault it. Staff are very friendly and accomodating, and it was great to have a drink at Granite Bar before heading into the main restaurant for dinner. The food was outstanding - we had this AMAZING Yabby Tortellini - we had it both nights we stayed!! Sunday was drinks by the pool, after a glorious walk along the Rail Trail. Overall an absolutely perfect stay - close to Melbourne too so travel time not long. I WILL BE BACK. Thank you Trawool!!!
