Great place to stayWe arrived around 2pm and was surprised to be able to go to our room. The reception staff always had a smile on their faces. The cleaner didn't come into the room during our stay, but if we needed clean towels, tea, coffee, milk, all we had to do was ask. Will certainly stay there again as the location was very close to the town.

Be quiet!!This hotel was overall a great stay, the girl on reception was very welcoming and helpful . The room was very clean and comfortable. The only complaint we have is that at 10.30pm whilst myself and my husband were enjoying talking to friends on our mobile phone we got a knock at the door. Two bouncers/ security staff told us to .. keep the noise down!! ,. I think it is ridiculous that at that time of night which is not late especially on a Saturday night that we are being told to be quiet when we werent even noisy , we were only talking with friends on the phone. Fair enough if we were blasting music or screaming and shouting, but to only be talking is a bit extreme to be asked to be quiet. We are in our late 40s/ 50s not young kids!

Well locatedAs you expect with a travelodge, no thrills however this was better than most. Very comfortable bed. Opted for the slightly pricier room so had a coffee machine which went down well. Great location for central York. Staff friendly throughout Only criticism is the communal door on the 3rd floor which squeaks and slams as people walk through it. However incredibly value as we paid approx £30.

Really?? In this day & age!Usual facilities, just as you would expect, clean & basic to go with the basic price, which is great & all you want for a one night business stay, so no complaints there. However the room was unbearably hot all night which hindered my sleep greatly. My real issue is that I was assured by the reception staff that they could supply me with soy milk as an alternative to dairy for my breakfast, but of course when I went to collect my breakfast box from reception the next day, I was then informed that "No Sorry we don't have any plant based milk" The receptionist insisted that I take 2 boxes as a way of recompense. How the hell does that work? It doesn't ! So I was left with 2 pots of cornflakes that I could not eat because I had no soy milk, 2 pots of dairy milk that I could not drink as I am lactose intolerant, 2 pain au chocolate that I could not eat as they contained dairy milk, the only thing I could have were the 2 cartons of orange juice & 2 flapjacks. Seriously in this day & age, with the number of people who are lactose intolerant or vegan, is it really too much to ask that such a huge chain of hotels as Travelodge supply their customers with a dairy alternative. Big disappointment.
