  Average hotel for an average price

  We made reservations at the Travelodge in Sturgis Mi for our family vacation. We stayed here because we found it close to the Shipshewana In flea market which we were going to see the following day. This was an average hotel which used to have a restaurant, and pool but alas, no more. they were both closed and the pool filled in. we would probably not stay there again only because there were several other hotels just off the interstate where we could have stayed.

  Price was good but some concerns

  The room price was good. The hotel desk staff was very welcoming. Its conveniently located to shopping centers, downtown, restaurants, bowling center. The sleeping and living area of guest room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Refrigerator, microwave, Coffeemaker were included. Bathroom was very small and dated. Not appealing. Needs repairs. The free breakfast was a disappointment. Not welcoming in food selections, appearance, or presentation, very limited. We went to a local restaurant for breakfast. Our biggest concern was the fact that the outside door to the first floor did not lock. Very disconcerting as anyone can walk in and access all areas of hotel at any given time.

  This place is unkept and not clean.

  upon arrival, Not at all professional. Owners/Managers are not the most friendly people in the World; Would not work with Travel agency to confirm reservation. Let's me rethink all reservations in the future.

  Along the way

  I stayed here a night as to I had other business in the area. The room was clean, heater worked great, no outside noise(Good for a Fri night). Lots of businesses in the area. TA says that there is a free breakfast. They STOPPED it a year ago. They did have Cf in am. The footstool did have a stain on it. Camera battery went dead so no pics of room. It had a micro and fridge.

  Clean hotel, very dated, repairs needed

  Overall we were happy with our stay, but the hotel is in need of many updates and repairs. Our room was very clean, no dust, debris or mystery stains. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room/hotel falls short is in aesthetics. It is very dated, though the lobby appears to be new. Our room was in need of many aesthetic repairs, mostly around hot tub and shower area. There was some significant water damage to the ceiling near the window, but did not appear to be an active issue. Very clean hotel and friendly staff, but it suffers from many appearance issues and desperately needed repairs.
