  Favourable location for exploring...

  Easy to find, near Dobbies garden centre, easy to park and very friendly and helpful check-in. Large family room for two nights taken, pre-booked, the room was clean and had everything that was stated on booking. Perfect location for exploring Shropshire and mid-Wales and also we used two takeaway eateries along Landsdown Road, postcode SY3 0HT, only 5 minutes drive away- fantastic Indian(Mahim) and the Fish and chips(Atlantic fish bar). Quite visit, enjoyable stay.

  Travelodge Bayston Hill

  Booked for two nights, 11)12th October 2020. Stayed in room number 22. Left after only one night. Worst nights sleep we've ever had on the most uncomfortable bed ever. Had some form of roll out as part of it. Supposedly deep cleaned room, not. Windows filthy, cobwebs all around, human hair everywhere, place was appalling so we left after the first night. Not going back ever.

  Unsafe and noisy

  Im sorry to say weve stayed before several times and loved staying although the staff are great it doesnt feel safe, they appear to be housing people with personal issues who spent the night wandering the corridors banging on doors and coming and going throughout the night, the paramedics arrived at one point. It felt more like a drug rehabilitation hostel. I did have to Inform the night Porter but they said they hadnt heard a thing all night apart from the ambulance. The car park is very poorly lit. Im still waiting for my promised refund the manager was sorting out. I hope it gets better as the staff seem to be trying hard.

  No frills but it does the job

  I stay here several times a year. I am female (and won't see 60 again) and I travel alone but I always feel safe at this Travelodge, that's why I come back. My room was tidy and clean, including the bathroom floor, which is always an indicator of standards. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The staff are friendly and had made sure the heating was on in the room as I arrived a bit late. It's very convenient for getting into Shrewsbury and Mid Wales. There's a Marks and Spencer Food hall a couple of minutes away so I can get something for a picnic or to eat in my room. I've seen some of the negative reviews recently so I decided to review my last visit. I was happy to stay there and will probably be there again before Christmas, lockdown allowing. I would agree with one reviewer that the trees need to be trimmed around the lights in the car park to allow more light in. However there are quite a few parking places directly outside the lodge and they are well lit. It's not luxury but that's not what I need.

  When I first walked in the bed was made, the surfaces had been freshly wiped down and there was a clean aroma about the room. The bathroom had fresh towels and new toilet paper and was very clean. There are takeaways close by and a spar next door, Also the staff are very welcoming from the beginning to the end of everybody's stay. I would have liked to have been able to charge my phone next to my bed but there isn't a plug socket near enough and also the doors need to close quicker as I had to stand next to the door to wait for it to close properly. But overall a good stay
