Poor Standards and Left Out if PocketWe stayed at this hotel from 02/10 to the 04/10. On arrival I asked where we could park, I was told to park at the front of the Palm Court Hotel we was told we needed to purchase a red parking permit. I payed £5.00 for the parking permit and I parked where I was instructed and placed it in the windscreen. We then went upto our room. Upon inspection the toilet was dirty and we complained. To be fair this was dealt with swiftly and we was given a different room and it had a partial sea view, and all was well. The next day I needed to get some boots out of my car, and I had a parking fine attached to the windscreen. I was furious as I had paid parking and parked as instructed. I complained to the manager and she informed me that the receptionist had only been there a week and she had advised use incorrectly. I was told that she would give us a voucher for the cost of the fine and that is the best she could do. Later that day we returned to our room and the manger said I have just found out that you had to be re-roomed due to cleanliness; she said due to our experience there we could stay for free, and we would receive a voucher for the total cost, but it would take a while. We never received any voucher for the visit and despite informing the company of our experience we have received nothing, neither an oppolgy or any financial return for the service or the cost of the parking fine.

Basic but no real complaintsCheap n cheerful, but for £28 cant complain. Only minor gripe was that the bathroom had no heating, and window frames were somewhat aged. It was peeing down outside, but hey thats Scarborough in December.

Lovely stay with brilliant staff!Stayed here for a night over the weekend and brought our dog Penny with us. We had room 107 which was very spacious and had a lovely view. We were actually really impressed considering the room rate was only £22. Personally we love staying at travelodges- they always have everything you could need, at a great price. This one in Scarborough is in a fantastic location and is opposite the Grand Hotel. The parking outside is £5 and expires at 1.30pm the following day. The staff were lovely. During our stay at 4am the alarm went off, and the staff member directed us quickly to the fire point while keeping us informed. She apologised for the inconvenience but personally I didnt mind at all and would never mark a hotel down for this- after all they are keeping us safe and the fire alarms were very loud and definitely working. My only little niggle was flushing the toilet made a weird noise and frightened me to death the first time I used it lol. I think the hotel could maybe do with a little updating, but for £22 what do you expect? Lovely staff and had a great time. Wouldnt hesitate to return x

Funeral stayI stopped at travelodge for funeral and found the staff were extremely helpful nothing was to much trouble. For such a unpleasant circumstances the hotel has a great handle on the situation. Good central location, great views which I will be taking advantage of in the future when everything opens up.
