  Worst travelodge I've stayed in

  We booked this travelodge for overnight stay before an early flight from Birmingham airport as it was closer to the Airparks car park than the actual airport travelodge but in future I'd rather drive the extra few miles and stay in a decent hotel. To say the Sheldon travelodge is old & dated is a massive understatement, it was like stepping back into the 1980's. It was dark when we arrived & parked in car park outside the attached pub and there was no obvious entrance to the hotel or signage directing customers to reception which we eventually found by wandering through what looked like a service yard. Once inside & checked in we had to walk through a warren of corridors, unlocking doors as went with the key provided and even through the pub to find our room, not exactly Covid secure to expect multiple guests to unlock & open doors into the pub just to get to their room. Some of the corridors stank of cigarette smoke, others just damp & foisty. The carpets & wallpaper don't look like they've been changed in decades, the bed was the most uncomfortable travelodge bed we've ever slept, or tried to sleep in and we were glad to get up at 4.00 to go to the airport.

  A very welcoming hotel and staff team. Always on hand to ensure our stay is comfortable and pleasurable. Even during this Coronavirus pandemic the staff here at Sheldon make sure we have everything we need whilst adhering to the government guidelines.

  Review

  I'd just like to to give Emma the receptionist a big massive thank you! She went above and beyond after i missed booked my booking. This world needs more people like her. Thank you :) and she used her personal phone to!

  Really happy

  Honestly, we cannot fault the place. The bed, I wanted to take with me, the shower was lovely. It was so cheap for two nights and all staff are lovely. Our first night a room was being ridiculously loud, we asked a member of staff to ask them to keep it down, he popped over, asked them, and then came back to check five minutes later! As they were still being noisy he moved them. Wish we knew his name!we were so grateful. So whoever you were working Oct 24 sat night, you are awesome. Would definitely stay again.

  My Hotel Experience at Sheldon

  The reception staff at Sheldon Travelodge are exceptionally friendly and professionals with a special mention to Cherry Khan who is very accommodating and very helpful, Always has a welcoming smiles and very polite manner when speaking to guests like me. The location of the hotel is very accessible by foot to shops and restaurants. The room i stayed in was large and the shower was brilliant. My overall experience in this hotel is excellent and i will stay there again next time. I recommend this hotel to other travellers like myself and enjoy their stay...!!
