  You Get What You Pay For

  We went for a short walk in the area. The nearby businesses though much older establishments were well kept. Parking lots very clean. The parking lot at Travel Inn Motel was clean. It looked like they were doing some maintenance to the patio area. New concrete patches. Construction tape in places. The stairs to our upstairs room were covered with roofing shingles. WHAT! After 2 trips up the catawampus stairs we decided to use the ones at the other end. They too had shingles but didn't feel like you would tip off. The room: It wasn't filthy. The sink, shower and toilet had been wiped down. The one and only shelf in the room was nasty dirty. The top of everything was dusty. I thought to myself that they must have very short maids. There was a piece of wall trim missing in the corner behind the door. The bed: Nice white sheets with a short comforter for a splash of color. It looked like an old school motel bedspread, we'll like a third or fourth of a bedspread. It went all the way across the bed but it wasn't as long as the bed. This was the only thing to serve as a blanket for the two of us. The mattress was very hard. I know, some people put a sheet of plywood under their mattress to get this effect. This wasn't for me. The pillows were stiff. They did have coffee that tasted like coffee. They picked up a box of donuts from a nearby grocery store. They had some crackers, bread to toast, cereal for a continental breakfast. I did sleep soundly here.

  You might have AC, or a refrigerator, or furniture, or you might not.

  Bed, shower, toilet, and sink were reasonably clean. The rest, not so much. The carpet was vacuumed but stained, walls in the bathroom were dirty. Slipshod repairs everywhere, if things were repaired at all. The light had a double switchplate but only one switch. The other one was an empty hole with neither switch nor wall behind it. The refrigerator was missing, and there were no chairs or table. I asked for another room, but the air conditioner didn't work and the control knob for it on the wall was missing. At least it had a good refrigerator so they brought it down to the original room that had working AC. AC is a necessity in the Yakima area in the summer! I rarely watch TV in a hotel room so the non-functioning TV didn't bother me. The staff is extremely nice. This is a very inexpensive motel but I'd rather pay a little more and see them clean/repair things properly.

  Inexpensive, Good for a few day stay.

  The Travel Inn Motel is an old style facility in the heart of the Mexican section of Sunnyside. For that reason it is surrounded by excellent Mexican restaurants, even a taco truck. It is clean and quiet. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave, no coffee maker. The AC didn't work. They would have given us a different room if we had notified them but we didn't need it. Decent breakfast including bagels you could toast and spread with cream cheese, good brewed coffee, etc. The man who checks you in is friendly and helpful. Don't expect luxury but if you don't want to spend much this place is good. Would stay again.

  Drive on by the Travel Inn Motel

  The wife and I were told by a High Point review. This place is more of a low-end weekly workers motel. The Posted sign says 24 hour surveillance, no visitors after 10 PM. Within 15 minutes of arrival they were trying to evict somebody upstairs from us. We rested for two hours went and got dinner and then left for greener pastures.

  Nice budget hotel to stay

  Was really nice place to stay in staff and owner were really friendly and polite many restaurants around just walking distance it just missing a pool it will be nice of they have one to enjoy summer and the price was ok !
