Not a good choiceWe stayed in a twin room for 1 night travelling as father & daughter. We arrived late in the afternoon & hadn't booked anywhere in advance to stay in Mtunzini. We chanced upon the Tradewinds which is on the main street & walked in & asked the price for a twin room which was ZAR930 & doesn't include breakfast. The Tradewinds is desperately in need of a makeover. It is run down & over priced compared to the many other great places we've stayed throughout South Africa. The room was comfortable enough but cleanliness wasn't to the highest standard, the toilet door didn't shut properly (not a major issue), no where to hang bath towels & our room was located next to a very noisy air conditioner. We'd had a long day driving & just wanted a bed for the night however I would suggest staying somewhere else in Mtunzini.

Relaxing Beach holidayMtunzini is a great Beach location, especially in December - not too many crowds. We selected to stay at the Inn in the town. centrally located to the shops and the beach. The accommodation was clean and tidy. The pool area made for great evenings set up with Braai stands and the kids could continue their swimming. The staff are friendly and attentive. We did not eat Dinners in the Restaurant but did thoroughly enjoy the buffet breakfasts. We will definately be back to both the town and the hotel.

Good food. Great pepolesWe didnt stayed at the country club, but me and my girlfriend went there for a dinner and we ate realy good buffet that they offered as a special that evening. Plus the view during day time is amazing and the best part is if u can catch some small talks with the locals from mtunzini

Very Bad ExpereinceWhen checking in the hotel staff were not expecting me even though we had booked and paid online. After a bit of a flap they took me to a room. they Manageress was about to leave when i asked her why the air-conditioner was not working. She tried and then moved me to another room. I switched on the air conditioner went to the toilet and noted the shower floor had black mould on it and the shower curtain was dirty. when i went back into the room the room was hot. The air conditioner was faulty and kept switching to heating. I was then moved to a third room. This airconditioner worked. The room is very poorly maintained nothing was straight all pictures doors are hanging at an angle the shower door was hanging off its runners grime and dirt in all the corners. Dirty hand and finger marks over the walls where people had placed their hands. the curtains had shrunk but the linings had not so it is difficult to close the curtains. doors and locks do not work easily. stains running down the walls behind the coffee making area from many spills before. No tea or coffee available only sugar and creamer. I went out for dinner i was not going to chance their eating spot. when i returned from dinner the only people in their eating spot was the staff with the TV on full. More than half the outside lights in the hotel did not work and i had to feel my way along the one passage to my room. At breakfast in the morning it was quite evident that i was the only person in the whole resort only my car was in the parking and it was clearly breakfast for one. The maintenance woes continue here. Firstly the coffee plunger was so worn out that your mug ended up with a third of coffee grinds in it. My breakfast arrived as ordered and it was ok, except for the waitress dragging her feet as she walked and then talking with the other staff so loudly the whole time through breakfast. i had to get up and go to one of the other tables to look for pepper i found a pepper grinder unfortunately its grinding days had long passed so i went looking for another one and found only 1 other this one was in the same condition so the solution was put fine white pepper in it and as you placed it down all the pepper fell out. When you look at the place it is run down dirty and not even the basics are maintained. the staff appear to be more interested in their social lives than that of the guests, i think the guests are an inconvieninece Do not stay here unless you are stranded

False AdvertisingAmenities list is flawed. Photos are flawed. No aircon. No coffee/tea. No bedding. Etc. Broken furniture. Toilet was leaking on arrival. Isn't cleaned often, on arrival there was dead grasshopper next to bed. See photos for an idea of standards now.
