    Toyoko Inn Yokohama-sen Fuchinobe-eki

This hotel is a tough one to find on TripAdvisor because the names on the Toyoko Inn and the TripAdvisor's web sites are different. That said, it's a Toyoko Inn, with small clean rooms and a free breakfast of onigiri, coffee or tea, miso soup, and one more changing side. It's about a 5 minute walk along non-busy streets to the south of Fuchinobe Station so there's no need for a taxi. It has an outdoor parking lot next to the entrance, and a tower parking garage for smaller cars. Parking is extra. The room that I got was a bit larger than other Toyoko Inns, in that I needed the chair to sit at the desk instead of sitting on the bed. There was a refrigerator, TV hot water pot, AC/Heat/Dry with remote, and a safe that other Toyoko Inns haven't had. To use the safe, you just enter a number for the combination and hit the "#" button. Enter the number again by itself and the safe will open. Enter it again and it will close. I was also on the 9th floor which gave some nice views over the city. I got there too early to check in, but there was no problem in leaving my luggage with a claim check until I got back to officially check in. In the area are a couple of convenience stores, one just half a block toward the station, a Doutour Coffee shop, a pharmacy and 100 yen shop. Around the station were several restaurants and izakaya. The Itoya, up some stairs on the south side of the station, had good cheap food that must have been a student hangout also, as many of the patrons were from the several nearby universities (Oberlin, Azabu, and Aoyama Gakuin). Almost next door to the hotel to the west is the Fuchinobe Ekimae Post Office, where the ATM is good for foreign debit cards. There was also a 7-11 a block away to the south if you prefer their ATM. On the street leading straight away from the south entrance of Fuchinobe Station is Nanuma Park, if not old, at least a place to watch early morning Tai-chi exercises or just a place to walk around. Half of it appears to be a fenced off driving school, with the figure 8 for rolling the ogata motorcycles still painted on the ground. The west half is more park-like. If I'm in the area again, I would return.

    good for a business trip

This place is good for a business trip. Rooms are actually big for Japanese standards. The place is well kept and the staff friendly. Staff speaks English which is not a given in Japan. There are a number of restaurants in walking distance and a 7-11 just across the street. Breakfast is nothing special but more than ok, especially since it is included in the price of the room. Room rates are actually very reasonable.

Good business hotel if in the area

This Tokoyo Inn was recommended by meeting organizers because of its location. The price was lower than I expected to pay. It is possible to save on the room by booking online or by getting room service only every third day. From a western perspective, the rooms were small as expected, but the bathrooms quite unexpected. The bathroom seemed to be a single unit that was constructed someone else and then placed into one corner of the room. It had the feel of a mobile home bathroom, including the sink faucet configuration that also sent water to the shower head. The staff was courteous and helpful at all times. The hotel keeps a regimented schedule about check-in and cleaning times. Early check-in may not be available, and you may not be able to get into your room during daytime cleaning hours (10:00 to 16:00). There are English instructions in the room for most needs. The air conditioner is powerful enough, and will continue to work after you've left the room and taken the key out of the power switch at the door. Expect to leave your key at the front desk when not at the hotel. The cleaning crew will use it to access your room. There is a safe in the room, and you can leave items at the front desk if they are too big to fit inside. Wi-fi quality was average, with free service in the room. Some floors seemed to have different routers. I had to move to a different floor to find a router compatible with my phone. The hotel is within close walking distance of the Fuchinobe Station (exit on the south side). Numerous stores and restaurants are nearby, including a 7-Eleven with an ATM that accepts most debit cards.

    Nice place with potential

The hotel is located close to Fuchinobe Station. Thats very convenient. You can actually see the hotel neon sign, as you come out of the hotel. If we got lost twice, it was because we were completely disoriented in the evening darkness! Basically, its a Functional hotel. The rooms are small, but well furnished. You dont really feel its small. The staff was good, although there is a limitation of language. Our disappointment was with the breakfast. It was all Japanese and there wasnt any milk, yoghurt or fruits. Being vegetarians, it was difficult to have a good breakfast. It may be a good idea to take the room without breakfast, and make your own breakfast in the room. There are convenient stores, as well as a huge grocery shop just about 500 metres away. There you can get plenty of fresh fruits, bakery items, juices, etc. at very low prices.

    Very good stay in Fuchinobe

I have been in this budget hotel several times since 2014. It is a budget and very clean hotel located close to the fuchinobe station (3 minutes by walk). The rooms are Japanese standards (then small for a western tradition). Included is a essential Japanese breakfast. Prices are very low, around 60 $ per night.
