  A great hotel, close to the Imperial Castle

  I stayed at this Hotel for one night only on my way from Kyoto to Kobe airport so that I could be close to the airport for ealy morning departure. The hotel is easy to find, right off the subway station. Check in is 4 pm, which is very late.....but the satff were friendly and spoke English. I had a single room with a semi double bed. NIce and clean. Fridge and coffe/tea. They offer Japanese style brekkie in the morning from 6.30 am. First arrived, first served basis. I think it's a good option when in Osaka because prices are reasonable ( ¥ 6804 tax included). Not much to say....clean, friendly and easy to find. The only drawback is check in, which is too late.

  Convenient place

  We booked here after buying countdown tickets at USJ. It's quite far from there, but it's convenient. Just right outside Tanimachiyon station. Staffs were friendly, room was comfortable, and they have simple breakfast.

  Next to Exit 8 Subway Station

  Take the elevator at exit 8 and the hotel door is just next to it at street level. The room was standard Toyoko Inn style - clean and predictable. Street noise was not an issue and the heating worked well. Breakfast is on the 2/F and most of the items available changed day-to-day for some variety. The location is quite good, just a few stops on the same line to Higashi-Umeda and another few stops in the other direction to Tennoji. The castle is just a 10-min walk away. A Family Mart is in the same building on the ground floor.

  Decent stay in a business hotel

  I have become a fan of the Toyoko Inn chain and this was yet another decent stay. Like other Toyoko Inns, this hotel was located conveniently next to the Tanimachi Yonchome metro station, and is just a 10-min walk to the Osaka Castle. Rooms were of typical Toyoko Inn decor- with all the basics you need. Free breakfast is provided just like other hotels in the chain. Given that it is slightly cheaper than other hotels of the same chain in Osaka area, I would love to stay here again.

  Fantastic convenient location!

  A great thing about this hotel is the location. It is within a very reasonable walking distance of Osaka Castle, and there is an elevator going down to a subway station (serving two different subway lines) literally about 20 feet from the hotel door. There are also excellent supermarkets with deli-style, ready-to-eat Japanese foods (sashimi, tataki, octopus legs, clams, etc.) about 15 minutes walk away. Also there are numerous convenience stores nearby, and a McDonald's restaurant just down the street... for the faint of heart. Other good points are the polite staff, the reasonably well laid-out bathroom, the coin-operated clothes washers and dryers being available, and the powerful air conditioning which stays on when you are not there. The free breakfast was more or less all Japanese style food, but seemed good to me and in ample supply at the buffet table. Oh, and a kid can stay (and eat) with an adult for no additional charge. A negative is the Toyoko Inn policy of kicking out guests from 10 AM until 4 PM every day, while the rooms are cleaned. I was there with my 6 year old daughter in blazing hot August, and it sure would have been nice to swing by and cool off for an hour or so around 2 PM some days. Or maybe to hole up in there during a typhoon. Another negative is, the coin laundry is located in the breakfast room, and I believe the clothes dryers vent directly into the room air. Inevitably someone would get up to do laundry at 6 AM and have the breakfast room like a hot humid sauna by eating time. I shower in the morning, and really hated to feel that sweat pouring out of my body again so soon afterwards. And maybe the bed was a little on the hard side for me. One final gripe is that while a kid can stay with an adult for free, only one set of towels is provided unless you pay extra.
