    Excellent value

The Toyoko has excellent value for money. The rooms are large for a Japanese businessman's hotel, especially for the price. They have good amenities. The Toyoko Fujisawa is no exception. It is a short walk to the JR Fujisawa Station and a short walk to the restaurant / bar district. The room was efficiently laid out and included a desk, fridge, a number of electrical plugs for recharging my too many gadgets, and a rarity for hotels in this price range, a safe. The bathroom was the usual compact toilet / sink / short tub and the tap for the sink swiveled to fill the tub. My room faced the tracks. I don;t mind the noise, even though I sleep with an open window, but those who don;t like it be warned! Breakfast was a simple affair but in line with the pricing. There is a Denny's a few blocks away for those yearning for a more western breakfast experience. All in all, a great vlaue for the money.

The best Japanese business hotel I have stayed in!

I'm glad I took quite a few photos of the Tokoyo Inn Fujisawa, because it allows me to describe the facilities in detail. About the only negative thing I can think of from my stay was that the main Tokaido train line is just across the road, but I was on the ninth floor (in room 911 as it happens) and the train noise wasn't a problem. In fact, I enjoyed the view of the Tokaido line and the Odakyu private line from my window. I wish I could stay in business hotels like this in Australia! The room was a decent size (Japanese business hotel rooms can be tiny) with a comfortable semi-double bed, and a cotton yukata was supplied. The room had an amazing array of facilities, thermometer, reading lamp for the bed, remote control for the reverse cycle airconditioning near the bed, a desk with a safe, fridge, TV, wall mirror and makeup mirror, wall clock, electric trouser press, kettle, hair dryer, phone, tissue box, free wifi, a bookshelf with several books, slippers, shoe-horn, shoe polishing sheets, a clothing rail with coathangers, an air humidifier, ensuite with shower/bath, shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser, toilet with bidet, towels, razor, and toothbrush. In the lobby there were a couple of computers with a printer for guest use, and a great deal of information about local sights. There were also vending machines, and breakfast was included. While breakfast was Japanese style, it was very good. I also happened to stay at New Year, and was surprised on the morning of New Year's day that a barrel of sake was opened in the reception and guests were given free Japanese sake (rice wine). Yes, it was a short walk from the JR station, but it wasn't far and well worth it for such a clean and well presented hotel. Access to the Enoden line to Enoshima and Kamakura is also easy.

Does not Honour its English Website

I have a membership with toyoko and have stayed in them for years, but lost faith in the company after a recent experience at this branch. The English version of their website offered an excellent deal for turning up after 11PM, which I was decided to try after my plans changed and I turned up in a city at that time without a reservation there. When I arrived at the hotel they said the deal was for after midnight, not 11PM. On my phone I showed them their own website (in English, for that branch specifically) and they reluctantly acknowledged that there was a mistake on the English website but still wouldn't honour it, even though it was just a difference of an hour. So I had to choose between waiting that hour in the foyer or paying a few thousand Yen more. And I wanted to raise this with the hotel or the management, but it turns out there is no customer service email at all - for individual branches or the company itself. It's a real pity, because the rooms are good, but I won't stay at a company which doesn't honour its own deals on its own website, or accept emails from customers.

    Good homely stay

Stayed 3 nights at Toyoko inn, single non-smoking on the 10th floor. Has a good view from the 10th floor. Easily accessible from Fujisawa station, walking distance about 5mins. Friendly staff, fast check-in, Japanese style breakfast with onigiri, miso soup etc, may differ with noodles or rice each day.

    Great Value for money

This chain is in the Guinness Book of Records for 100% occupancy and you can see why. They do everything they can, to make your stay, the best it can be. Top floor with a view, non-smoking room, free internet, told by front counter to book on line to save money and includes a Japanese breakfast. Right near the station, but as quiet as a mouse. Bath robe included. About AUD$60 per night wherever they are. You can't find better.
