  Cost Effective Lodging at Really Convenient Location

  As many reviews have pointed out, this Toyoko Inn is a short (5 minutes) stroll from Shinagawa Station. My family and I (2 adults, one child) stayed for three nights in early Dec 2016 and, for the amount paid, found it a cost effective accommodation. The reception staff were polite and helpful. Check-in and out was a breeze. Breakfast is complimentary but choice is limited (generally 4 items + coffee, soup). Trying having breakfast earlier (between 7-8 am) if you wish to avoid the breakfast crowd (ground floor dining room is sufficient to accommodate about 15 or so adults comfortably). The bathroom/toilet is adequately equipped but space is a constraint. Be careful when getting in/out of the bath tub. Laundry service is not available but there is a common washer/dryer next to the dining room. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to ask for a room that does not face the train station/tracks. The tracks are just across the road from the Inn. The 10th floor room I stayed in faced those tracks and I could hear the moving trains quite clearly.

  Great value

  Close to station and with new and clean rooms. No restaurant or room service but lobby has cheaper drinks from vending machines than you could buy in the local shops. Friendly staff some with English ability.

  Convenient

  Great location.walking distance from shinagawa station.the great point is you can see the hotel once you come out from the west exit.so, no need to hunt high and low. One more thing, the bus to Fuji is also within walking distance .outside the station.for morning departure, there is only one bus at 9.30 am Remember to go for non smoking room if u hate the smell of cigarettes.We get a smoking room.it is almost impossible to get rid of the smell. Breakfast is included.They serve 2 to 3tyoes of bread,coffe,sausage,smashed eggs and some veges.reasonable Rooms is small as usual.bed a bit hard,pillow a bit soft. Anyway, it is still a good choice among other hotel at this price range

  Good English, Larger Room than Expected, Perfect Access

  Reception staff spoke good English and got the paperwork processed quickly to check in. My corner room looked larger than expected with plenty of space to lay several large suitcases on the floor. It faced the back side and was quiet at night with no train noise. Shinagawa station is just across the street within a 5 minute walk and there are many ramen stores along the way to get food.

  Tinier than your usual Toyoko-Inn

  I chose this hotel for its location, with direct train access to Haneda airport and close to Tokyo centre. It took me slightly more than 5 mins walk from Shinagawa station, and it's extremely popular for that reason. However, what I did not expect was that the hotel is really tiny, not so much in terms of room space, but the public area. Frequent Toyoko-Inn patrons will understand, the hotel chain usually provide free breakfast, but due to its space constraints, this hotel can only allocate a tiny area for breakfast, I can understand the seats are a bit more congested, but so are the breakfast variety?? Though it's still tasty nonetheless. In addition, there's only 1 lift, which can be a nightmare during peak hours, especially if you are rushing for train or flights. Next, Toyoko-Inn also provides washing machine and dryer, pity that there's also only 1 set available here. By the way, it's really so near to the station, that noises from the tracks are clearly audible from my room facing the tracks, definitely not for the light sleepers. These are of course, the constraints that the hotel group can do nothing much more to help, but I have to say, the staffs are truly marvellous and helpful despite speaking little English.
