Very convenient location but the service was so-soMy friends and I took in Osaka after our trip to Kyoto. By this time 3 of the 5 of us had become members of Toyoko Inn. We arrived at the hotel together around 15.30. After my friends who were members checked in, my partner and I followed. I paid for our two-night stay only to be told that I could not check in until 16.00 as i was not a member!! We waited at the lobby until 16.00, even then the young lady at Reception had to check the wall clock before handing us the room key!! I have never encountered such pedantry in ANY hotels before!! The room was small but it was newer than the one in Kyoto. Still it was very conveniently located and the room was clean. I was also surprised how quiet it was despite being in a busy district!

Staff cannot speak English! The staff could not speak English at all. When checking in the first night, there was a girl staff member, with the eyes of a deer in headlights who was not helpful. I had reserved a single room and I was with my mother. Once paying for the room with my credit card, I headed towards the elevator when the staff member started yelling across the lobby. I was confused and she pointed to my mother and frankly said, "No!" and "She. (makes an X with her hands". I know as a visitor it is important to attempt to speak basic Japanese, however if you work in a hotel, I strongly feel that staff should speak basic English to help foreigners. I mean, the hotel is located in a touristy town. That's when I realized the staff member meant to alert to me that I need to pay extra for my mother's stay. I was not notified of this when I reserved the room and I had to pay upfront on the day of my stay. It would have been nice to have seen that on booking.com. The last day, I asked where the nearest post office or mail box was and the staff did NOT know what I meant. I eventually went to Family Mart next door and the employee was kind and knowledgable enough to point me in the direction where the mail box was. How can someone who works at a hotel that sees many foreigners each day not speak basic English? Other than those two inconveniences, the hotel is clean. If you do not want your room cleaned, you have to tell them before 10am each day. When the cleaning staff come by, they will hang a bag filled with towels, toothbrushes, and other necessities on your door. If you do this, obviously other visitors will know you are not in your room. So, be cautious if you plan to be away from a while from your room.

Not really in NambaMy overnight stay was I guess okay, room was clean and staff can communicate well. But for the price I paid I think I'll get better value for my money from other choices in Namba or Shinsaibashi which are more central or an Airbnb which may have better sheets. This hotel is still a good 10 to 15 minutes walk from Namba station so it wasn't very comvenient dragging my suitcase all the way. The free breakfast food would only have rice, soup and side dish, but not really a main dish. If you don't mind staying in the gaming area of Nippombashi and that 10 to 15 minute walk though, then this place should be okay.

Comfortable, quiet hotel, close to the action in DotonboriDecent enough hotel--my room (single) was large enough with a very firm, comfortable bed. Close to transportation--there are two subway stops close by, however as another reviewer pointed out it's not really in Namba and Google maps takes you a roundabout way to get there! Maybe 10 minutes walk to the action in Dotonbori. Lots of places to eat around the hotel and many, many, anime/manga shops in the area. The 4 PM check-in and 10 AM check-out times were a bit strange for Japan (usually 2 PM & 11 AM), but not huge issue. Not much English was spoken, but the staff were friendly enough. Overall a comfortable stay. No complaints!

Staffs are able to speak good English. This is a business hotel chain in Japan. As usual, the hotel room that I was allocated has the same design with the other outlets that I had previously stayed, thus everything is the same in the room. Sizing of the room is small but you are still able to open up your luggage on the floor without any problems. Sizing for the bed for 1 pax is a small double size bed. For ladies, this outlet gives out bodycare set when you checked in. They provide free breakfast. Breakfast is very tasty! Location for this hotel is walk-able to Namba area and Kuromon Market. Staff for this outlet speaks pretty good Basic English, so there shouldnt be any problem.
