Easy access to Nagoya TV Tower and central park

It takes around 6 minutes walk from the No.1 exit of Shinsakae-machi Station (if you will be from Nagoya station to Shinsakae-machi station with a big luaggage, you can take the elevator at exit 1, or to Nagoya station from Shinsakae-machi Station by the elevator at exit 2). It is not far away from Nagoya TV Tower, Oasis 21, central park and shopping areas in Sakae. If you don't mind walking a bit more, you can visit both Nagoya City Art Museum and City Science Museum. You can also take a shuttle bus ($1000 yen) from/to Central Japan Airport four times a day to/from Tokyu Nagoya Hotel where is a get-on/off point not far away from Toyoko Inn Nagoya Sakae, however, please take note of the limited seats while no reservation for shuttle bus. It's better to check schedule first while it keeps changing.

    Noisy Chinese tourists

I stayed here one week. Every day during my stay chinese tourists came and destoried silent atomsfer. Many instructions like "be quiet" in chinese were dispayed on the wall but no work. Never stay again.

    WORSE WIFI CONNECTION EVER

Located on Higashi Dori the hotel lobby is set back from the street so is hard to see. Staff had limited English but they try their best to assist. The twin room was fair sized with lots of lighting. Bathroom was compact but workable and the controls for the shower worked off the sink. Breakfast area has lots of seats along the window but the selection was poor even for the Japanese food. As for continental food it consisted of slices of white bread with coffee/tea. Better eat before hand or go out for food. Plenty of restaurants down the road. Worse WiFi connection ever. Either can't get on or get disconnected. Not acceptable in this day in age. Lots of Chinese tourists staying at this hotel so very noisy.

    Really good staffs

Hotel is little bit noisy ... because of Chinese travelers but rooms and wi-fi are good & the main thing is the staff .. they are very helpful and very sweet..I mean other things are good but staffs are very good.

Typical Toyoko Inn in the Sakae area

Parts of this Toyoko (corridors) are, like the immediate neighbourhood, by Japanese standards, slightly rundown. The Sakae underground shopping/dining mall is an amazing labyrinth worth exploring. The air conditioning (to be used as heating in November) was reatively easy to use, in spite of the Kanji-only remote keys. The staff at breakfast appeared less stressed and more on top of things than the Toyoko Inn average. The WiFi in the lobby had such low security settings that my computers (all three of them) refused to connect to it. But in my guestroom it was thankfully OK. View from my room was almost totally blocked by what looked like a tower of freight containers piled up inches away from my window. The breakfast room can be so crowded that you may need to eat standing, so don't bring any luggage into it if at all possible. It is a relatively small Toyoko Inn but, otherwise, like all Toyoko's, and in spite of a few minor weaknesses, solid, reliable and very practical.
