  So so...

  Just a normal hotel.Anything spectacular, just a bed , a very very small room and that's it. Japanese prices are crazy for hotels, and I can say that in Italy, something like that at that price is a robbery. Anyway, if you cant find anything else, just go.

  Value for money/Needs improvement for non-domestic traveler

  Price equivalent to EUR40 is not bad. However, I need following request if possible: 1/ Instant coffee/tea/Japanese tea bag 2/ Meat or fish or cheese for non vegetarian Other service is well acceptable. I coud enjoy the short excursion full of Sakura flower after the audit of partner factory. Fukushima/Koriyama is famous for Sakura fllower!

  Standard Toyoko Inn a way from the JR station.

  Stayed one night and found the place a distance from the JR station. The hotel is a standard Toyoko Inn with efficient staff and clean rooms. WIFI great in room and there is a shuttle to the JR station. There are restaurants nearby but I did not try any. Would stay again.

  A perfectly fine budget hotel

  I've stayed in Toyoko Inns before, and I got exactly what I expected-- a small (very, but no problem for me-- and there is extra luggage space if necessary), clean, very functional business hotel. The wifi was good (and having stayed at different Toyoko Inns my phone/tablet automatically connected), service was fine-- they handled busy check in/out and breakfast times nicely and efficiently, and, to my surprise, they had a sauna. It didn't look very inviting, tucked away next to the elevators and vending machines, but it was really ok. There were baskets for your clothes, a safety box for valuables, 3 showers (and 3 wicker seats in front of a big mirror/sinks, equipped with a hair dryer) and the sauna itself-- HOT! Definitely bring a bath towel-- you'll need to sit on something. The only negative aspect of the hotel is location. It's about 10 minutes from the JR station (traffic lights seem long in Koriyama), but there is a shuttle bus during peak times. Actually the walk didn't bother me a bit, but the hotel is kind of hiding on a side street, and surrounded by... nothing. Even the nearest convenience store is about 5 minutes away-- not a huge hardship, but rare in Japan. At least you can go there to stock your empty in-room fridge, if you'd rather not use the (very reasonably priced) vending machines. A couple more points: breakfast was, not unexpectedly, Japanese, but the coffee and orange juice were fine. I was also happy to see eggs and bread, and... some kind of meatball. Anyway the breakfast staff handled that busy time with good cheer. As for English, you can probably communicate well enough-- a taxi was called for me (as I said this hotel is off the main street), and the girl helpfully told me "5 minutes." For those needing more detailed information in English I recommend the tourist office at the station (2F, near Starbucks). All things considered, I would definitely recommend this Toyoko Inn for those needing simple accommodation in Koriyama.
