No CompassionI had booked a room a month in advance for my sons and I to stay one night to be able to do our yearly Saskatchewan tour and see relatives, even though it would only be a visit in a park as they have compromised immune systems and are being very careful with exposure with the pandemic. We live in Calgary where the numbers are much higher and when I booked I knew there was a good chance I would cancel if the positive cases continued to grow. But because I am out of work, in a panic I booked by accident a room that I was not able to cancel other than the first day or so after booking. I found this out when I cancelled with two weeks notice. I explained and tried several different ways to contact the manager but was ignored, this is a difficult time and $117 is a lot for me with not working. I have had other hotels years ago refund my money the day before because of a snow storm and according to the agreement they were not obligated to do so. I didn't come to Saskatoon because where I live in Calgary there are many positive cases (within a few km's) and I do not want to potentially bring it to Saskatchewan and to others so I cancelled. Where is the compassion and great customer service during this difficult time?

Amazing service & rooms! The hotel and room were exceptionally clean and the room had smart tv where you could watch tv or connect to your Netflix etc. The beds were super comfortable and there was a very nice table to enjoy a meal or do a little work. Plenty of charging ports for various devices as well. Absolutely the best shower I have ever used. Tons of space and a wonderful rain showerhead. The bathroom was very spacious and very well cleaned. The kitchenette was well stocked with everything a person could need and if we had stayed for more than one night we definitely would have taken advantage of it more. They also allow pets without making you feel like they are annoyed that you brought a pet.

Delicious continental breakfastThe room was spacious and comfortable. Covid protocols were in place where it was required to wear masks outside of the rooms. We noticed that the other guests were generally following this rule but maybe some more gentle reminders/enforcement could be improved on. The continental breakfast was great. The two people who were working it were absolutely fantastic! They changed the layout a little bit from self serve to two people serving everyone from behind a barrier. It was a point and pick sort of set up where they put everything on your plate/tray.They were so patient, efficient, and kind. We really appreciated them and everything they did. We had a nice start to our day with a full breakfast. There is a large seating area outside that was comparable to a resort. We enjoyed our breakfast outside in the sunshine. Would definitely stay here again.

Average hotel stayI had stayed in a TownePlace suites location in Red Deer AB in 2014 & enjoyed my stay there so I expected my stay would be about the same here. We had points to use up, so though this would be a nice spot to use them on. I requested a room away from Circle Drive, as I know from previous stays at several hotels that they are typically notorious of not being soundproof from the outside. When I checked in, the front desk agent advised she had placed me in a room facing the Canadian Brewhouse which I was pleased to hear. I went up to the room & discover this was the opposite, that my room faced circle drive instead. You could tell they spent time cleaning, as it had an incredible clean smell. Was very impressed with the first impression inside. When I returned downstairs & was asked what I thought, I commented the room was facing Circle Drive. She responded that they had limited rooms available that dogs were permitted in, which I understood. Several things that I noticed that certainly did not meet or exceed my expectations was that the interior walls were certainly not soundproof (our room #207 was next to the electrical room, so I heard transformer hums all night in bed, I wouldnt recommend this room because of this specifically), the floors were not sound proof either (you could hear people both below & above having conversations & a heavy-footed person above you, I also had to be careful how I stepped as if I had dropped anything on the floor it would echo), the toilet seat was a slam-shut & no bathroom fan to pull steam or smell out. I could also hear highway traffic throughout the night as well. I was also disappointed that they only had one rolling chair to eat supper in the room on, the couch was not very comfortable to sit on & eat supper at the rolling table. Both my partner & I found our bed incredibly uncomfortable and as a result had a poor sleep. I found the pillows as uncomfortable. I had requested foam pillows, but none were supplied in our room & I did not have the patience to call down to ask if they could bring one up. The one thing that did surprise me however was that the blind in the room kept out 98 of the light in the morning, which was certainly nice as we slept until 9:30 in the morning. Overall, this hotel was average in my opinion. I have had much better stays in other hotels. I wouldnt book here again if I were paying for it myself instead of work, so I doubt I will be back. I am glad I did not spend money on this room (uses points) other than the pet fee, as I was not completely satisfied. I am fairly easy to please with hotel rooms but was shocked that this hotel wasnt as good as I had expected.

Can't find anything wrongWithout saying that it is an exceptional hotel, I certainly couldn't find anything wrong with it, as everything was perfect and service was excellent. During the time of this plandemic, their fitness centre was open, which is fantastic to me, as all other hotels I had been to lately had it closed. That was a huge plus and surprise to me and I certainly appreciated that. Pool was open but needed to make reservation, just like everywhere else. The room was very nice, AC was working fine, the tv by the side of the bed in an endented wall was different from other hotels and it did the job just fine (a bit of a twisted neck though haha). The king size bed was very comfortable and I would go back with no hesitation at all.
