  Mini-Socially Distanced Getaway

  We wanted to take a few days to visit the Carlsbad area, but wanted to stay in a more quiet area and decided on this hotel. There are restaurants (and a Starbucks) within walking distance so that was a plus! The friendly and professional, Cheryl, who was at the front desk at time, explained the rules implemented due to the pandemic. I really liked that you had to make reservations for the pool which we definitely reserved everyday! The grab and go breakfast was pretty good too. I felt the hotel was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. I read some of the reviewers here said it was noisy by the street, but for us, it was pretty quiet.

  We miss this place!

  We stayed at Towneplace Suites by Marriott San Diego Vista last year for our Christmas vacation. If not for the travel restrictions, we would be there again this year. We remember our stay with fondness because of the excellent reception from the management and staff. They welcomed us warmly when we arrived and always looked after our needs and requests. The rooms we occupied were spacious. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the kitchen appliances and utensils were very useful. There was a buffet breakfast back then and it was delicious and filling. Thank you, Mario and the rest of the management and staff for an enjoyable stay. We will surely stay here again, hopefully, soon.

  Highly Recommend!

  I stayed at this hotel for two nights while I was in town for a wedding, one night in a suite and the other in a standard single room. Both rooms were very clean and supplied with all the essentials and necessities a visitor would require. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, in addition to making the hotel feel very safe and COVID conscious. During such an uncertain time, I am thankful for everyone who works at this location who has helped make it safe, clean and enjoyable to stay at.

  Everything we need in one place

  We stayed here for two weeks. We have a dog. The fee to keep a dog is a one time fee. they have a strict mask policy. The kitchen worked well for us. The staff is wonderful. If we had a problem, they fixed it. The lead manager, Mario, couid teach classes on customer service. We are here during Covid, and many of the places we have stayed at over the past few months have not been able to deliver on their amenities, but here they do their best. They still offer a free breakfast, although it consists of frozen Subway breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, a granola bar, a packaged Danish, & fresh fruit... The pool & the whirlpool are open on reservation. It is wonderful to have the pool all to yourself! In the parking lot, there are three restaurants , a deli, and a Starbucks. We had takeout from Leucadia Pizza, which was excellent & theit chocolate chip cookies are divine! We also ordered entrees from Mr. Taco, which were delicious. Then we purchsed their family dinner special, which is a taco buffet for 4. for $25. A bargain, which provided 3 meals for us. I do not recommend the horchata, however. There is also a pet supply store there with a wonderful & knowledgeable staff. We also took advantage of the mobile veterinarian who comes every other Sunday. Tabu, the sushi restaurant, was not open. If you have a dog, there is Vista's only sanctioned dog park a block away where you can take your dog off leash. Unfortunately, a lot of the owners are off mask, as well. There is also a playground there for children which is fenced off from the dogs. There is a path and trails to walk on. There is a large parking lot across from the Cevron statio that serves several medical offices. It is empty at night and early in the morning. Our dog loves to run, so we take her over there and there is usuall no one else around. Adjoining the parking lot is a neighborhood of houses that are excellent for walking, as well. A mile + aw2ay is a shopping center with a Sprouts and a Trader Joe's to purchase groceries. There is also a Peet's Coffee there (our favorite) as well as several other stores. Across from the Trader Joe's ia a nice park if you bring your dog.

  Awesome

  If you are looking for a clean, quite, affordable, and comfortable place to stay for a while....This is it! We experienced excellent customer service; from Mario at check in, from Miguel when we had to extend our stay, and from Amanda when we checked out. Being a Gold Member we were lucky to get an upgrade due to availability- thank you Mario! I will be booking more through Marriott Bonvoy than Hilton Honours for Gold Members. Well done Marriott! Driving to Balboa Park San Diego takes 40 minutes, Oceanside takes 15 minutes, and Carlsbad takes 24 minutes. We enjoyed Mr. Tacos in the same complex as the hotel.
