  Wedding Weekend Stay

  Came in for a friend's wedding, and could not have been more pleased with our stay. We were greeted by two very friendly employees who informed us about all of the amenities the hotel had to offer. My wife noticed the employee's manicure, and asked for a recommendation. The woman provided directions, and was just wonderful. The room was spacious, with plenty of room in the closet for rented tux, suits, dresses, etc. Beds were very comfortable, and the ac was freezing. Lastly, the free breakfast had great variety. I doubt we will be back to PA any time soon, but if we are, we will stay here.

  Wonderful place to stay

  Using trip advisor I was drawn to the hotel for the amenities and location in the Allegheny valley. I wanted a retreat away from the busy city. As I pulled up I was disappointed by the location as the hotel is just off the highway surrounded by other hotels and restaurants. Immediately the hotel staff put me at ease. I was greeted by Jeanine who was friendly and welcoming despite the late hour. She offered to help me find somewhere to eat and asked what else I needed to get settled. From there the week just got better and better. My room was amazing! It was impeccably clean, full kitchen including dishwasher and stove-top (this kept my expenses down and I could eat more healthy than usual while traveling), nice modern bathroom and comfy bed. The next morning Brandy was working the front desk and spent probably half an hour helping me craft my dream vacation. She helped me find running/hiking trails, printed out maps, trail maps, and directions. I went for a massage and a mani pedi, went to an escape room and ice skating. I was also directed to the quaint charming town of Oakmont less than a mile up the road (they also have a free shuttle that will take you within a 5 mile radius if you dont arrive with a car or dont want to drive). There are riverfront walks, cute boutique stores, old churches, brick/cobble stone roads, and a wide variety of eating choices. Later in the week a friend of mine that is somewhat local popped in one of the days and we drank coffee around the hotel outdoor firepit and chatted. All of the rest of the staff were also phenomenal, by the end of my week I felt like we were a big family despite me being a little high maintenance AND this being over thanksgiving and them having to work. Lexi at the front desk was awesome, and all the kitchen and breakfast staff were always friendly and cheerful. The complementary warm breakfast was also a wonderful change from the normal cold continentals. There is a waffle maker, but also always an egg of sorts (over easy, with cracked paper, or omelette, etc) and at least one meat choice, often with vegetarian options like veggie sausage. There was also coffee and fruit available all day long. All of this, the friendly staff, and the indoor pool and fitness center made my week feel like a vacation retreat. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay! I will definitely be back.

  Nice stay at a business hotel

  We stayed at the TownePlace Suites for 5 nights over Thanksgiving. The staff was quite nice, and the room was comfy for three of us. The breakfast was your typical breakfasts with a few variations each day. The fitness center was nothing fancy, but it worked to get the workouts in. Only a few issues cropped up. The first was that the pool was absolutely frigid. It said that it was heated, but I have a very difficult time believing that it was. The second is that the screen to the microwave is very bright (in fact, many things in the room were bright, but the microwave was especially bright). We couldn't figure out how to unplug the microwave, so we taped a plate from breakfast over the screen...and we could still see light from the microwave. It would be nice to have the option for a more sleep friendly environment.

  Pandemic Policy not followed

  I was forced to use this hotel by a tournament organizer. When the tournament was canceled because of the pandemic, they still charged us for a night stay. The cancellation occurred after the 48-hour period but prior to 24 hours. Marriott changed their 48-hour policy to accommodate for the challenging time, but this hotel decided to not follow their guidance. Now I need to work with Marriott to fight the hotel to get my money back.

  Lovely Little Stay across the river from Oakmont

  On balance of features, Towneplace Suites are excellent value for money. The suites have full kitchens, you still get breakfact but it's "grab-n-go" due to COVID, the pool is great, the have a gym and a laundry room. Perhaps others have theoutside fire pits, but, that was a nice feature. The staff are super friendly. It just had everything I needed and the suites are nicely decorated. It didn't feel like a "cheap" stay, but, it was.
