  Terrible Experience

  Stayed at the hotel for Thanksgiving while visiting family. The place had a great price and I figured its Marriott itll be fine. It was not fine. The room size was fairly large yet they didnt even put a king size bed, just a queen, with plenty of room on each side which I thought was an odd choice. The bed itself wasnt very comfortable, very bouncy. I could hear the freeway fairly easily in the room that didnt face the freeway. There was a massive bright light to light the parking lot shining directly into our room so the blackout curtains had to be pulled at all times. The bathroom was fine, small but not terrible. The most obnoxious part was that a smoke detector needed a new battery and was chirping incessantly through the night.

  First let me say that we always try to say at Marriott hotels. We are Marriott members. This is the second time that we have stayed at towne place suites. This first time was in San Antonio which was a great place clean and customer service was great also. This is why I chose towne place in Lubbock. Bad choice. First I believe we were given the worst room in the hotel after I had made this reservation at least 5 months ago. After spending the night in a room that sounded like we were on the highway because the window wouldnt shut we asked to change. We were able to do that but were told that it wouldnt be until after noon because they dont start cleaning until 9. Anyway 2:30 still no room finally insisted and were given a room on the back which was great. We have not had our room cleaned for the five days we have been here. They did come and get our towels because we were told that the hotel had run out but they would be replaced. Never happened. Luckily we had a towel in the bedroom they missed but no floor mat. Looks like they are renovating part of the hotel which is really needed. Toilet doesnt really flush, dated rooms, old seeming furniture. Breakfast was alright and the attendant did a good job of keeping the area stocked and tidy. Only had non fat milk first four mornings though. Had to ask at the desk for a TV guide and though it listed HBO it didnt exist. Marriott really should shut this hotel down and fix it and then reopen. Or quit being a Marriott. We usually stay at the Overton here in Lubbock but decided to stick with Marriott Wrong decision. Also doubled the rates for graduation weekend which I think is really wrong. Especially with the condition of the hotel Hotel. Poor Room poor Breakfast average but at least clean Customer service. Willing for the most part Definitely not to Marriott standards

  sad, broken down place

  After staying several times in Marriott properties, this was a terrible stay. Room 1 that was allocated to us had no electricity. Room 2 was a 2 bedroom suite which was nice, but the the airconditioner was not working in one of the bedrooms. Cramped bathroom did not do any favors either. Hotel is undergoing what I think is renovation and hopefully things should look up in future.

  VERY GOOD OPTION

  Very good option, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet with enough space for every one. A nice place to stay if you are going through Lubbock. We were a large group, 4 families and 17 members of the group. The staff welcomed us with their arms open.

  Very Sad..Run down place

  Room Cleanliness = 9/10. The person who prepared the room was very kind with a little note hoping we enjoy our stay. I thought thats a very nice gesture. Lobby/Hallways Cleanliness = 3/10. Trash bag on the hallways, carpet not clean especially at the front desk/reception area. 7:00 AM and there is no breakfast on sight. Room Furniture = 7/10 The Hotel looks like it has been abandoned, dining area dark and all chairs above tables, reception area entrance is a Chios. It is sad to see everything now is blamed on COVID-19, thats what the front desk explanation. The hotel looked like it has 10% occupancy rate, Ambience is creepy like you are in prison. You always trust the Marriott name, but definitely no more with this brand name. The noise in the room was unbearable, the refrigerator was making noise all night. There are two huge spotlights outside my window, although the blinds were closed the light was still coming in. Completely restless night.
