  Modern hotel with good staff and convenient location

  This review is for a 2 bedroom suite with a water view. What I liked: 1. The room was clean when we checked in and the property seems pretty new. The carpet doesn't have that greasy feeling. 2. The kitchen is average in size with a full fridge, four burner stove, and dishwasher. 3. The two bedroom suites are located at the end of the hall so there's less noise and also close to the stairs. 4. The lounge chair and ottoman are very comfortable. 5. The beds are comfortable and pillows are fluffy. 6. The view of the pond. 7. Our room faced the west and had a great view of sunsets and moon rise. 8. Staff was friendly and helpful. 9. Conveniently located. You got Costco, Whole Foods, Target, White Castle, Starbucks, Panera, restaurants, etc. within 10 minutes of driving. 10. The neighborhood felt safe to walk around in. What I didn't like: 1. There was just one bathroom. 2. The closets in the bedrooms didn't smell very fresh. This is a nit pick.

  RACIST STAFF: THIS NEEDS TO STOP

  The absolute WORST hotel experience ever. The staff are the most racist people ever. In 2020, I cannot believe that I still have to deal with racism. Several things happened in our one night stay that made me decide I would never return, but here are the things that bothered me. I called a month in advance to reserve the room. I was told by front desk staff that the room includes 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I arrived and theres only 1 bathroom. I called front desk and was told in a rude manner that I could check out if I didnt like it. All other hotels were booked so I had to stay here. The next morning, I asked for a pan to make bacon (there wasnt one provided in the room like the front desk rep told me there would be). Waited 20 minutes, still no pan. I went up front hoping it would make things easier, but they told me (in a rude manner) to wait for someone to bring it to me. After waiting for so long, I decided to make bacon in the oven. The grease from the bacon caused smoke and the smoke detector went off. Someone came to the door and told us to stay in the room and keep the door closed. I told them that was unsafe because the windows dont open. I called and the front desk staff was so rude. Told me if the smoke was too much to bare that I could leave the room. When I checked in, I was told I could have a late check out at 1pm. Normal checkout is 11am. At 10:37am, someone came back to the door telling us its time to check out. I was so taken aback. The experience here was so horrible. I will never return to this hotel. Oh and by the way, no one ever brought me a pan.

  Home away from home!

  I was in town working at one of the local hospitals for a month and so happy I found this hotel! The room was neat and clean, and I had a kitchen to cook my meals in every night as well free wi-fi so I could connect with my family back home. They had free breakfast that I was able to take advantage of before heading to the hospital. The front desk started to know me by name and greet me every evening when I returned and really made it feel like my home away from home! Thank you!

  Outstanding property for long stays!

  I was a guest at this property for approximately 45 days, October - December, 2020. I was relocating from Denver to the Chicago area and wanted a comfortable, safe, convenient and affordable place to stay with a full kitchen. TownePlace Suites was perfect for me! They offer free breakfast (grab and go) every morning, weekly housekeeping, maintenance as needed, indoor pool and weight room, and very comfortable rooms. Everyone I had contact with during my stay was beyond friendly and helpful! In particular, I had a medical emergency over Thanksgiving weekend, and the front desk got me an ambulance immediately. I am so thankful for that! My room was comfortable although the only downside is I was right next to the Room for housekeeping and maintenance supplies, so I could hear when they went in and out. Other than that, it was a very good stay and I would highly recommend them!

  Disrespectful Manager -Hotel Loud

  Stay itself was not bad, though sound carried horribly throughout this hotel. Could hear folks in the room above and nearby me. Could hear other rooms toilets and showers loudly. Despite this it was clean and front desk staff was kind. Problem arose when business related mail got delayed and arrived the day after I checked out. Despite discussions in advance with staff to arrange to have this mailed to me, it was not mailed out for several days after they received. (Was told they forgot) then they mailed it priority for $65+ (without notifying me this would be the cost and giving me other options) and then to top things off they mailed it to the wrong address so an important business document, was not received until 1.5 weeks later, which was a big inconvenience as an understatement. After all this, all I asked for was at least shipping cost refunded, but could not get anyone at this hotel to address. Worked for 4 days to just get a manager on the phone to resolve. Once finally was able to reach the manager after multiple calls, though initially apologetic he refused to even consider a refund, was rude and even raised his voice, yelling at me when I expressed to him that was unacceptable. I could not believe it. Will never be doing business with this hotel again.
