  Home from Home Cottages

  Charming cottage with a lovely view. Everything about the cottage was great. Its beautiful, homey and also stylish. The friendly hosts left a more than adequate breakfast, fruit in the fruit basket and even a port for us for bedtime. Everything is available if you want to cook, just bring along your dinner. The bedding is good quality and we appreciated the electric blankets. Stanley is a lovely town with coffee shops, a hotel with a restaurant and a fresh sea food restaurant at the water side. We enjoyed our visit. We took the chair lift and walked on the NUT and we could have stayed another night. Perhaps Greta & Chris you would rethink the notice about charging $15 Australian for every 15 mins after 10am guests were late as it sounded a bit unfriendly.

  Thank you for your kindness

  Our booking has to be cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID in Victoria and possible isolation in Tas. The booking had fell in the Non-refundable period when we requested a cancellation. Chris and Greta kindly waived the penalty. Thank you!

  Best accommodation we had in Tassie

  Wow, we booked the Studio and after some of the horrible places we had been on our 2 week circumnavigation of Tassie by car, we had lowered our expections considerably, absolutely no need to do that with Touchwood. The accommodation was fantastic the rustic cottage with stone wall was beautiful. We expected the Studio to be small, boy were we wrong. It is huge, separate bath, bed, kitchen. Yes, a kitchen with a stocked fridge. All the essentials, home made loaf of fresh bread, butter, home made jams, eggs, milk, coffee, port and chocolates on a lovely crystal serving tray and beautiful crystal glasses to drink it with. Could you ask for anything more. Greta, Chris and Avis were the most friendly and obliging hosts we had in Tassie, closing followed by Bicheno by the bay. You must have morning tea at the Cafe, man the homemade scones are to die for. Greta graciously gave me the recipe and let me tell you, it works a treat every time. Have made them 3 times since we came home. Stanley is such a beautiful place, if you haven't been there watch the movie, "The Light Between Ocean's". The Nut is the the place to visit and stay at Touchwood.

  Touchwood cottage was excellent

  I highly recommend this cottage in Stanley and will stay again. The cottage was beautiful and the hosts could not have been more friendly. Very comfy beds and wonderful breakfast provided. They also own the gallery and cafe next door and the coffee and cake is Devine.

  Wonderful Cottage & Owners

  We stayed in the newly renovated 1840s cottage and loved it. The thing that we loved the most, other than its romantic charm, was how the owners had put a special touch in the lounge room with some chocolates and a little bit of Port for that late night tipple to end a wonderful day in this magical little town. The cottage is surrounded by a cafe and gift shop which is also run by the current owners and the food in the cafe is delicious and the quality of the Tassie made gifts are first class. Well done to putting special touches in our room and also stocking the fridge with breakfast supplies especially during these trying times (Covid) - very much appreciated :)
