  Vintage and clean

  The location is good. About 15 minutes to the city center by public transport. Building facade is peeling. Front door is solid wood. The combination is very vintage. Once you get in staircases adventure begins. The rooms are on the 3rd floor. On top are 3 doors. Owner lives right door. Rooms for rent are in front, to the right and I think the next floor. In fact they are apartments. First time she offered us the apartment on the left. I was impressed. That is until I realized that here had to stay all 4 of us. There was one bathroom. The problem was the position. To get to the bathroom we had to go through one of the bedrooms. This was unacceptable given that we were 2 couples. At first owner said: you have booked this and that's it. After we consulted between us and we told her we will be leaving she also offered the apartment at the front of the stairs. In this way she solved the problem. And this apartment was just as impressive as the first. Had a staircase leading to the bedroom and a spacious kitchen. All very clean. The owner Carla is a bit strange but very nice. She gave us a map and explained how to get to the main attractions.

  Felt like more than just another traveler here....

  We unwittingly landed at Torripa after Booking.com dropped our original reservation elsewhere in Trastevere just does before our long-scheduled arrival. Torripa was the only hotel in the area which could accommodate our need for two single rooms. Carla the delightful hotel manager went far out of her way to make certain our every need was met: early flight arrival; parking across the street; suitcase storage while we traveled out of town; even a lovely rooftop room with a terrace and overlook of Rome's city center. Carla's love of her city is infectious. Location terrific across the Tiber from top historic sites; and Trastevere's informal outdoor restaurants a feast just steps away. Our new go-to place when in Rome.

  Great Stay!!

  We stayed with 13 persons on te top floor of the building!! Carla was waiting for us in the apartment. We had many rooms en 4 bathrooms. They did everything to make our stay feel perfect!!! We could call Carla every time we want and she was there for us. Rooms were clean and the location was good. Nice places all around. Thank you for our great stay!!!

  Estancia en el Trastevere

  Apartamento de dos pisos acogedor en el barrio del Trastevere. Colchones cómodos y amplias camas. Dispone tambien de sofa-cama. Mejoraría el baño, ya que se encuentra en el piso de arriba y la bañera es incomodisima por ser abuardillada.

  A peaceful retreat three floors up from busy Rome - perfect

  We loved this apartment for our family of 4 for our short stay in Rome (too short!) We were greeted by the very friendly owner and house manager who could not have been more welcoming and helpful (You should phone before arrival to be greeted and let in at street level..) Carla (house manager) has a smile as wide as the Colosseum which is contagious and after our long drive we were soon comfortable and relaxed in our accommodation which was perfect. Everything was immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated. The beds were perfect for a good sleep and the apartment was just so quiet considering the lively street and area below. You really don't need a car as the location is very convenient. If you do then metered parking at 1 euro per hour (at time of writing) was quite easily available, Some places feel just right from the minute you walk in. This was certainly one of them. Lovely tasteful, clean and quiet apartment in a good convenient location with lovely and welcoming people - highly recommended ! - and then there is of course Carla's smile to set you up for your visit! - perfect !! (we will be back in Rome for a longer visit for sure and this apartment will be our first choice)
