Very nice hotel with great staffThis hotel caters largely to Japanese visitors. This part of Taipei seems to have a fair number of Japanese restaurants and the hotel serves miso (among other items) for breakfast which we ate while watching sumo on tv. Our room was small but functional and had all we needed. The best part of our stay was the staff: they went out of their way to be helpful and to make sure we were happy. Great service!!! The street where the hotel is located is lively and has several inexpensive dumpling bars-just great! It is not far from the Taipei main station (85 Taiwanese dollars cab ride, less than $4C- you can walk it in 15 minutes). I would stay here again.

Comfortable Room, narrow hallwaySuper nice staff. Good location for foodie venture. My 6 nights of staying they never restock toothbrush and paste. The slipper never change or provide us a new pair. The in room Wi-Fi slow can't watch YouTube on 480 or 720. Stop buffering and watch. Bathroom ventilation was poor and after shower, the whole room felt stuffy.

Great hotel with shuttle busA very pleasant hotel on the river Good connection to local stations by courtesy shuttle bus from hotel . Rooms well appointed with en-suite with great facilities. Famous Japanese WC! Staff very attentive and helpful concierge. Great money changing machine. Japan is a very cash friendly country!

A boutique hotel, small room, cheerful reception staffThis is a small boutique hotel, the room is very small, small windows. But bed is comfortable. My biggest disappointment here is the lack of coffee making facility. There is a pot to heat water, but there's only 2 tea bags a day, no sugar, no coffee. For your coffee fix, you have to get it downstairs. Going downstairs however allows you to mingle with the reception staff who will make you the coffee. And the receptionists, always guys when I was there, are the most friendly, cheerful staff. They always greet you whenever you come accross them at the lobby. Breakfast spread is good, may be good if the breakfast staff are also as cheerful as the reception staff.

Outstanding Staff!!!The most outstanding feature of this hotel was the staff. They definitely went above and beyond to accommodate their guests. Check in was thorough but quick. When my phone wouldn't connect to the WiFi in the room, they immediately sent someone to install a router which worked perfectly. They always helped us to call a taxi and helped my elderly relatives down the stairs. No matter who was on duty, they knew who you were and what room you were in. This made me a feel better since my relatives mentioned that the area used to be the red light district. I felt very safe knowing that the staff was always paying attention to the comings and goings of their establishment. The breakfast was fantastic. There were a variety of savory dishes, and they were all delicious. The breakfast staff treated you like family. Side note: the hotel is also located near an assortment of restaurants including Jin Din Rou, which is rumored to be run by one of the original Din Tai Fung owners. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bathroom was very modern, and the Japanese toilet was a nice touch. One small recommendation I have is to find a way to remove the musty smell of the carpets in the hallways and to put shades on the windows. Other than that, I would definitely stay in this hotel again. The quality of service is top notch. Other hotels need to take lessons from this team of staff, because they did an awesome job!
