  Romantic getaway

  The hotel is very special, looking over the sea and harbour of the little Greek fishing village, Gerolimenas, with postcard perfect views. It has basic rooms/apartments as well rather more swish accommodation in its newer, beautifully done extension. The staff was extremely friendly and gave us lots of practical information and insider's tips to make the most of our trip. We extended our stay as the setting was so special and it was the perfect base to explore the landscape.You Really need your own transport if you wish to explore the area but it is well worth it. The restaurant served standard greek food, but there were a very good selection of fresh local seafood.

  Not accurate location - too expensive

  There is an accomodation titled Akroyiali apartments ( ) and an other titled Akroyiali rooms to let ( ), both belonging to the same person. The rooms to let are located by the sea, but the apartments are located about 0.5km away from the village of Gerolimenas, in the middle of nowhere. When speaking on the phone with the owner, we wanted to stay at the Pyrgoi Theodorakaki (his 3rd establishment, by the sea) but he suggested that we stayed at the apartments, saying that they were a mere 200m from Pyrgoi. The price was 100eur per night for either room, no breakfast included. We chose the apartments as they were more spacious. However, we were extremely disappointed when we found ourselves in the middle of nowhere, having to use the car to go to the village, as the August heat did not allow much walking. We were traveling with our two boys age 2 and 4. When we complained about the inaccuracy of the location he did not offer to move as to Pyrgoi, even though we checked on booking and it appeared the Pyrgoi had a room available starting the following night. I have to add that the apartment was old, and so was the furniture and the floor had not been cleaned under the bed.

  Almost deserted..

  We stayed at this hotel in August 2017 with my wife and son. 2nd floor, no elevator, the room had windows with broken glasses. The bathroom is unacceptably bad. We only stayed for 2 nights and left the place immediately. The only positive thing is the location that is almost in the sea and the room view that is astonishing...payed 60 per night for a room that should cost less than 20, but it was high season and the nearby hotels were fully booked.   Good location

  We stayed for a few days on August. Good location also for exploring the area. Clean water good for swimming.The apartments are 5-10 min on foot far from the village center along the main road, with private parking; very recent construction; clean; well equipped; same property as the O Gerolimenas hotel. Efficient, polite, professional staff/owners.

  Sleepless in Gerolimena

  Way overpriced . Very small stuffy room crenelations like window and the most terrible matress (in need of a chiropractor in the morning). Shower so tight with a disgusting feeling of the shower curtain on your nody. Bad experience and breakfast to the most minimal of expectations.
