Good, simple and efficientI was booked in to here for a short business trip in Basel. Located 15 mins away by taxi its great as a business hotel for that city. My rooms was simple, very clean and had a good bed. Little details are of course missing but at this price point you cannot complain. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. Id stay here again for a business trip

The room stank and the staff are rudeI was put in a room on the ground floor which stank horribly. When I asked if I could move to another room I was told the hotel was full and when I complained about the smell the guy on the front desk said this is a sh*t hotel, if you want a decent hotel you need to pay more. He actually said his hotel was sh*t. I was shocked at this. I suspect the room smell was due to the carpet having been wet by the shower room which didnt seem to have the drain in the right place (so the shower did drain efficiently) , but thats a guess. It was pretty rank. The breakfast was minimalist but fine. The room would have been ok were it not for he stench. My main complaint is the attitude of the staff.

Finally - a separate toiletThe one night we spent was essentially for an early morning departure from the Euro Airport. The hotel is pretty much a standard 3 star hotel - no frills, but solid, clean and ok. The reception booked our taxi for departure at 04h15, all worked out 100% well. The hotel is situated close to the Rhine river, which invites for a nice stroll on its banks. The area seemed to have a above average representation with an apparent migration background, we were however not harrassed in any way. Whilst all was good, the best part of the room was that the toilet was separate from the bathroom - you don't find that very often. My wife was very thankful for that.

Limited People Running the hotel.I stayed here for 6 nights. Check-in time was 16:00 hrs which was really painful as I reached there around 13:00 hrs and nobody was available on reception. Restaurant was open at that time so all three people were busy in serving guest there. I got water after an hour of my request. Funny thing is they are running a hotel but their restaurant remain close on Saturday Sunday. I felt like nomad searching for food for those days. Drinking Water was chargable (Pretty common across Europe)

Rudest staff everWe arrived for check in at 3:00 pm only to to discover that the front desk did not open until 4:00 pm. We were on a cycling trip and arrived in very hot weather so this was a bit of a pain. The hotel has a sign pointing to a terrace at the rear and we decided to wait there for the desk to open only to be confronted by the manager for being there at all. He was clearly very miffed and did nothing to disguise his hostility toward us. When confronted by his rudeness he resorted to claiming not to understand us when he clearly did. I wont go into detail about our experience on checkout except to say that it degenerated into a very confrontational situation. This is quite the rudest and most unlikely person to be running a facility for the public and if the owner has any sense he should sack him immediately. One more thing is that the front desk shuts from 11:45 am to 4:00pm which seems to me to be absurd.
