  Value for money

  It takes me around 15 to 20 minutes to drag my luggage from Kaohsiung MRT Station to the hotel. Exactly in front of the hotel is a sewer of bad smell, especially at night. I slept four nights there. Some prostitutes have disturb/lobby me for business whenever I walk alone along the sewer back to hotel every night. The room was clean, neat and tidy. However, no curtain inside the bathroom. some leakage of the water-tap, some signs of cracks of the tiles on the floor inside the toilet. The breakfast was at a reasonable standard. The staff there were very polite and helpful. You can easily hear what people say along the corridor while inside the room.

  Better Than 'Average' - But Not 'Very Good'

  I stayed here for six nights and for the most part was pleased with the accommodation, but there are some issues that need to be addressed. The room, while equipped with modern amenities such as a flat screen television and central air-conditioning, is in need of some updating. The dated bathroom needs some sort of shower curtain/divider as it is impossible to take a shower and not flood the entire bathroom. Also, there was an issue regarding proper water pressure when flushing the toilet. The large bed was on the soft side, probably could use a new mattress. Due to the large gap beneath the room door (likely due to carpeting taken out leaving hardwood floors - the dark stained wood floor was quite nice), noise from the hallway would carry right into my room. Also, I am unsure of any smoking policy here, but almost every night I smelled cigarette smoke wafting into my room from beneath my door and from the air vent. On the positive side, the staff is friendly (zero English is spoken), breakfast is included in the nightly rate, the room was brightly painted, well lit and cheerful and the location was good - a 10-minute walk to the Kaohsiung train/bus station/MRT, overlooking a canal and close to many places to eat - a 7-11 and a Family Mart are downstairs and across the street along with a very good Peking duck restaurant, just to mention a few.

  Very cheap budget hotel

  The hotel is very old and cleaniness wasnt consistent. Some towels will have a few dark spots. The room overall is ok spacious, but it will be good if the bathroom can be renovated as the piping system is weird that water leaks out of the bathtub through this hole attached to the bathtub. It wasn't sound proof and it can get noisy sometimes. The service was quite good and breakfast was provided, all for $25AUD/night! Its value for money and this is quite a bargain.

  Avoid by all means

  Nothing like in the photos! Rooms are dirty, smelly (smoking), walls and ceilings stained from leaks, bathroom is absolutely disgusting. Booked two nights, barely made it out the first night than ran away (without having breakfast of course, that is a whole 'nother level of disgustingness).
