Restaurant diningWe dined in (not staying at resort) the entreeand kids meals were delivered super fast and all tasted beautiful. 2 mains followed promptly and didnt disappoint. 2 other mains ordered at the same time arrived around 45 minutes later, 1 being exactly as requested and was enjoyed, the other not. Service was A1, staff very friendly and venue was well presented.

Nice room - dreadful foodWe had a queen water view room which was nice (but dated), and about what you'd expect for the price. The walls are very thin and we could hear the people in the next room! The view was very nice. Check-in staff was efficient though not particularly friendly! We dined at the bistro that night for convenience. Big mistake. The food was absolutely dreadful and the attitude of staff matched it. The seafood chowder, which I have enjoyed in many places throughout Tasmania tasted like some sort of canned soup with a bit of frozen seafood thrown in on top. The prawn & vegetable skewers were equally bad - again, tough, flavourless frozen prawns. Serving badly prepared frozen seafood in the place which prides itself on its fresh local seafood is just pure lazy/cheap. We also shared a Caesar salad - which was lettuce drowned in bottled dressing with cheese. No crouton, no egg. Caesar?? Interestingly, the 'Caesar' dressing was exactly the same bottled muck as the 'herbed' dipping sauce for the skewers. Continental breakfast was included for us. Rack rate was $15 for a VERY basic cereal/toast/uninteresting fruit & yogurt. Instant coffee & tea bags. All served by sullen & unhelpful staff. $18 at a local cafe will get you a fabulous scrambled egg with all the trimmings! By all means stay for the nice view (from some rooms) and very nice deck, but our advice would be to give the worst bar maid in the world and the bistro a wide berth.

ComfortableA warm welcome for a one night stopover which was very comfortable. Two double beds in the room. The view from the outside over the water is beautiful. Their gardens however are in urgent need of work but the accommodation is clean and well presented. An evening meal in the restaurant was enjoyable however the maitre de could lighten up and be a little more friendly to his patrons.

DisappointingCheck in staff were disinterested and often absent from the reception desk especially afer 5 pm and after 5.30 pm some of the exit and entry doors were locked with a master key causing some guests to make a lengthy walk to the main doors. As mentioned in other reviews the exhaust fan sounds like an idling jet engine. No airconditioning in any rooms and an ineffecive room heater in our room. No bar and no meals available. Tired dated matress. This place does remind me of Faulty Towers. On one day our room wasn't seviced apparently because we used a discount voucher when booking and paying for the room for our 3 day stay. On the positive side we did have nice bay views and the room was clean.

Pls dont waste your moneyThe food was terrible, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the view.. what view (see below) the swamp stank (not the normal sea side smell, it smelt like a dirty swamp) and the mosquitoes were im full attendance, I think the bogged tyre marks were a free view bonus (so the balcony wasn't needed as it was unusable) I thought maybe I could relax in the spa instead, but unless you wanted to be in the dark, the fan (attached to the light) sounded like a jet engine. Staff were difficult to find as reception was unattended for my whole stay. It was bad enough that I checked out a day early and went home (while paying full fee) and although Ive requested to speak to managment 4 times post my stay, (in person, email and phone calls) all efforts have been ignored. Pls don't waste your money.
