Fine stopover in the low seasonWe picked this hotel based on the amenities, namely the jacuzzi that they advertised. It wasn't working during our stay. It is well located and the staff are very nice. Rooms are fine, the air conditioner was very strong, which was a pleasant surprise. We had a great morning walk on the beach before heading to our next stop.

Lovely beach, great restaurant staff but slightly datedWe were the only British people there and all other guests seemed to be Italian which was fine by us....it is Italy after all but it may not suit everyone. We travelled around Puglia and Basilicata and this was the place where English was least spoken and so our bit of Italian learned before travelling came in very handy. Be warned, I was told a particular meat was chicken and it tasted like chicken but my husband later discovered it was rabbit which I don't eat.well except here anyway it turns out!! The room was tiny but we only slept there and were only there for 3 nights and so it was suitable. It was super clean but needs a little update. We had a card to slot in to start the electrics, similar to most hotels now, but we had to practically ram this in. We couldn't work the safe as we couldn't find the hidden button and didn't really want to ask but I am sure if we had done, we would have been shown. The balcony was small but we had a lovely sea view. We only had one chair and a few very old and broken pegs which looked a bit cheap and naff. The shower was small. I am small and struggled and I so I'm not sure how someone larger would manage. No tea and coffee facilities were available in the room which I expected from a hotel. We only used the beach one morning but still had to pay a 30 Euros resort fee (for use of the beach and loungers). You don't get towels and so take your own. You actually get a numbered lounger but they didn't tell us this until after we'd been sunbathing on one a few feet away for an hour (and yes we did have to move)!! The beach is across a quiet road and has its own beach bar. Either side of Tichos beach are other private sectors for other hotels nearby but you can have a lovely walk along it. The restaurant staff are the jewel here and made us feel very welcome. The food was actually quite good for half board. The food never stopped coming out and so you never had to worry about running out. You helped yourself to salads/starters and desserts and then the main dishes were served to you. We tried our Italian out on the waiters and a lovely lady who had travelled by herself from Sicily for a holiday. They were all so patient with us. Overall, a very clean but slightly dated hotel with good old fashioned principles for service. It was a handy location, served good food with a smile and had the nicest beach wed seen on all our travels in Italy.

Very averageAt least from the outside the hotel looks very ordinary, nothing special. There is no swimming pool. The surroundings are very beautiful and the beach area looks good. It is appropriate for people that want to be very close to the beach and with little requirements towards the hotel itself.
