  Nice Name, Poor Service

  Despite de nice name, and the golden outside windows, this Hotel deliver a very poor service level! Almost of works whose dealing with the guests are not able to speack or understand english. The break fast is a no prepered for outsiders, no expresso, no ham, no variations of seeds. Finally the apartments maintenance state are very bad. The cost benefit balance is red.

  Bad Hotel

  I Think the name should be Golden Crown Hotel Tianjin. I have bad experience with this hotel. The rate is not cheap compare with other same star hotel. I was given a room with broken air condition. the air condition switch is turn to 5 Degree Celcius, but the room is like sauna room. Try to open the window, but the window is not able to open one. Fix glass window. Thought this maybe the air condition just start working and need time to cool the room, then I take a stroll about 30 minutes around. When came back the room is still very hot. I Call the reception and complain about this then about 5 minutes a woman of room service come and check the air condition. According to her, all of the hotel air condition is like that. Even change to other room the air condition will be the same. How could this hotel sell high price room with this condition? Very shameful. I have travel almost all over the world, and this is the first experience to have room like this with 4 stars hotel. It is impossible for me to sleep with this condition then I come down to the reception and claim about this matter. Then they tried to move me to other room. According to the Lady Manager, this new room air condition is the same condition, but as the room was in the corner, then the room is cooler than current room. I have to choice but to accept the room. But I found out, that this new rooms air condition is working well. It is very shame for this hotel, try to sell room with not proper condition. Will never stay at this hotel again, maybe never come to this town again.

  Wow!! what a room or was it a suite

  We were upgraded to the business floor and our rooms were so big we were able to hold a full meeting and conference call with several people in my room and sitting in the "lounge" area. We were invited to the cocktail hour where there were some great finger foods and free flow of beer and wines which we all enjoyed. Location is great as you can walk outside to many choices of restaurants and styles (from Spanish to Local). The staff are really friendly and accommodating but the level of English was a surprise as I only met full English speakers in the business floor check in and lounge. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety of food available and the ambience was quite nice.

  Solid well maintained hotel

  Stayed a few days and it was fine. Generally maintained, helpful staff with good English. Air con was a bit hit and miss. Really wide selection on offer at breakfast. The pizza restaurant sold much more beer than pizza as far as I could see and had saloon style double doors were bit unexpected - perhaps more suited to some than the escort bar on the same floor. Leisure facilities were a bit hit and miss with pool not always open as advertised. A bit further south of the main shopping and cultural centres it was close enough to the river to afford pleasant walks to the busier areas of town reasonably safe bet if you don't mind walking or getting taxis.

  Good location. Fair Value

  Family of three stayed for one night. Hotel is very well located and within walking (or short Didi ride) from all the main attractions downtown. The room was spacious and well equipped. Bathroom excellent with separate shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but they really struggled with English. Not a problem though. The breakfast was good, but more towards Chinese style, but enough also for Western taste.
